Hi Jen, regarding #3 above, you're right we don't have to enjoy the tribulations themselves. Anyone who thinks we should is downright weird! BUT James does say we should "count it all joy", I suspect he means we should realize that God is testing our faith, perhaps giving us an opportunity to prove to ourselves that it's genuine!! God is good!  ~mike

Hey, Mike!

God is very good!!!  I love it when I'm able to go through a tough time and be joyful about the good I see in it!  It makes the walk so much better!  Sometimes, though, I'm unable to do anything but trudge along and persevere through a tribulation and it's not until I'm out of it that I have the ability to look back, gain a Godly perspective as to what He was doing, and be glad for it.  And, then, there are those times when I'm left there asking,  "What was that all about?"  Regardless, whatever the tribulation is, I can choose to count it all joy, knowing that God is always loving and always faithful, no matter what it looks like.
