| Mark 6:49-50 |

6:49 but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out; 6:50 for they all saw him, and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take heart, it is I; have no fear." What an incredible scripture! How many times have I looked toward the horizon of my future during a storm and had my heart fill with fear? The storm clouds our minds so much that we can't even see Jesus in the midst of it. I have been guilty many times of allowing the sound of the wind and the waves to keep me from hearing His voice speaking to me..."take heart, it is I; have no fear."
Today, I pause and ask myself, am I so busy listening and watching the storm, that I don't even realize He's there in the middle of it? Have I paused to listen to hear Him calling my name, clearing all other noises from my mind? Forgive me Lord when I let the storm I'm in drown You out. Clear my vision that I may see You today walking towards me and calm the sounds of the wind and the waves that I may hear Your voice. Thank You God, that You are so much bigger than any storm I can ever be in! |
