Hey, I enjoyed reading all about your settling into your new place and how everyone is so friendly. Wouldn't it be great if people were still like that all the world over :-) I know we have to wait til Jesus comes and gets us for that though.

I'll read more of your stuff when I have time. Time is rather limited due to the missions work I'm doing...Thanks for praying about my acid reflux situation. God bless.

It is a world of difference from rural Kentucky to suburban Maryland. When folks down here honk at yoiu it's to wave and say "Howdy!" instead of cussing at you, and wanting to run you over. I like listening to animals too, very calming.

Sounds wonderful...that there are still places where people say "hi". I live in Vancouver, a large city on the coast. It is a great city b/c people still live in neighborhoods...and when I go into shops and walk down the street I can say hello and people are responsive. Of course, it is nothing like where u are but still better than many cities. :-)

David, you may have been the last chance we in Maryland had to get honked at in a friendly manner. And now that you're gone, I guess I'll know for sure that someone's angry or just wants to get past me. :-(  Glad you're setting in and liking it there!

Joyful Servant, itsn't it nice when folks smile back at you and say "hi"? I like not having to always be looking over my shoulders when I'm in town. In the kindest way to say this, I have not yet to see a middle finger displayed here. I'm not kidding. I don't think I've heard anyone say the word verbally either.

Mike and Laura (better known as Desi & Lucy), yes, I'm gone from Maryland. I can no longer interpret the sign language you see during road rage up there. LOL You'll have to figure out what they're saying to you on your own own. :) I still have some unpacking to do, and cleaning up to do, but I'm getting there, little by little. Down here folks just ain't in a hurry.

I go back and read this blog now and again to see how relaxing life is in some places. I love the little hummingbird.

It is completely different from the metropolitan areas I've lived in most of my life. When I was a wee lad where I grew up was considered a suburb but it wasn't nearly as built up as it is now. It is completely different. I lived in Saluda, S. Carolina for a year in the early 70s and it was really a nice small town. But where I am now is out right rural. I'm still not use to things in many ways. If I leave my bike out in the backyard unlocked I still check it to make sure its still there. Nobody bothers other peoples' things.

The animals bring joy and peace to this area, at least for me. Yesterday I watched 3 dogs playing together. All different breeds and all have different owners.
