In the Gallup poll said, in the area of religion,poll show that Americans by and large define themselves as religious people,and the majority identify themselves as Christian.Are amazingly ignorant of the Bible,unfamiliar with its most important people and teachings.
Why is it most of our schools and Collages was started by Christians and now are run by unbelievers?
What ever happen to putting God first in everything and also in when we Vote!
They say it's time for a change But I say it's time to get back to basics and put God back in our Country and do it NOW!!! Were burning day light!

But I heard someone say the other day that the difference between the USA and France is that in the US most people are afraid of their government, but in France the governement is afraid of the people. | You are right. We have left our first love. Not America but the church at large. Most claim to be Christian but few walk the walk. If revival is to begin in America it will begin in the church, His body. may we fall on our faces before God for our country. Pray for the salvation of our leaders. They seem to ignore God until they need him. as a matter of fact the population at large seems to be in the same boat. How about our church leaders where are they in this day. Are they satisfied with large buildings and large congregations without concern for our world at large. Multitudes are hanging in the balances of life and death and we often set on the sidelines without a concern for their lostness. may God forgive our lack of concern for the lostness of our nation and may we return to the God of our fathers, Our Father who is in heaven and in our hearts. May we be energized to finish the job that was started so many years ago-REACHING OUR NATION AN OUR WORLD WITH THE NEWS THAT WILL SET THEM FREE. |

Let me ask you something family. If either candidate or one of the larger more prominent preachers, like Joel Osteen said what has been said on this board, what would happen to them? They would be called crazy and told we live in the best country in world. Many would holla, keep the state and church separated, citing Jefferson and other founding fathers. We cannot have it both ways. Do we really want the church to take the lead? Is that what we are saying here? I am all for it but you and I know, it won't happen. |

| Can I just say that it's sad that Joel Olsteen is even considered a prominent preacher, He doesn't even preach the Gospel. He is an ear tickler! This is what I mean by a watered down Gospel! I do agree that it won't happen for many different reasons, which saddens me greatly!but like Evangelist Keith says revival starts in the individual heart! |

I agree about Joel Osteen, too. While I have heard a few messages from him that touched my spirit, I think for the most part he waters down the Gospel too much and is mainly a motivational-type speaker. |

This country is not the same country it used to be....and not all is bad in it folks. When my brother and sister were children in school, there was prayer...there were also no blacks in the school. Some things change for the worse, some things for the better. Who is to blame....us. It is us, first, in our lives, in our homes, in our churches.....while we sit and argue over the color of carpet in a church or who sits where....there are souls out there dying and going to hell, because of us. That should be our battle cry, first and foremost. The country changes, we get upset....but souls are still dying and going to hell.....and it's not because there's not prayer in school, it's because we aren't fulfilling our duties as christians.
On this post is a comment that saddened me....bashing a pastor....where does that fit in? Have souls been saved due to his message? If so, then why the bashing? Does it unite the body of Christ?
What it all boils down to, in my opinion, is that as Keith said above 'Revival begins in me".....not in blaming anyone or any government that we're under......in fact, I do believe we're supposed to pray for our government. |

| Doyle, you are right on about get back to the basics. In the beginning of this year I could not get that song out of my head "get back to the basics of life" by Waylon. Finally I realized that the Lord was trying to tell me that we were enering into a season of getting back to the basics. He has really be making me aware of how we waste and teaching me to conserve. All summer I hung my cloths on the line and save about $40 a month on electricity. Not talking about the 3 bills that we cut from our budget. It's a season of pulling back. Us Americans are way out of reality. Thanks for the post. |

Thank you all CindyLou I didn't put this blog on to bash any Preachers, and not the Gov. but we must pray and take action that we are there for the most good and keep God in the process!When I went to school pray was out of school and I got pick on about being a Christian I was called a Jesusfreak and had rock hit me in the mouth.I got in trouble for have a prayer meeting before school at school.
In 1963the.S. Supreme Court ruled that laws requiring Bible reading in public schools were unconstitutional. A key agitator for this landmark decision was atheist activist Madalyn Murray O'Hair.
Her son,William Murray, became an evangelical Christian. Mrs. O'Hair sued the Gov. in her sons name to get prayer and Bible out of America schools and won but her son became a Christian. So people please don't bash Preachers they may be doing God work in a different way then we use to!

| I was going to leave it at that but I can't. Seriously guys we need to stop with the God is all love and we shouldn't speak against those who water down the Gospel. So I guess if it starts with me and you all hate me than so be it! We need to open our eyes and see our biggest problem as Christians is that we buy into a watered down Gospel and live in a post modern society. Christianity has become nothing but a self righteous, do what you want, become something you're not "religion". It actually makes my head want to explode that people like Joel Osteen and so many others can just go around professing that "the Bible can be interpreted any way you want"if that is what they believe then so be it". Are you kidden me! Cant you see? Christianity is someone who confesses to God that they need Him. Someone who takes the words of JESUS CHRIST seriously when he says in Mat 16:24 If anyone chooses to follow me let him DENY himself, pick up HIS cross and follow me. or how about this one "Not every one who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophecy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness. (Matthew 7:21). Jesus Also said "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:13-14). We as Christians need to stand against the heracy that is being spewed out by so many! Yes God is loving but He's also Just because He is perfect and Holy we can take one without the other! IMHO, we, the church, have given away our power and authority to the government. We have allowed the government to take care of the elderly, educate our children, provide meals to the homebound...it truly has nothing to do with separation of church and state. It has everything to do with authority in the local community. The constitution was written so that the federal government had very few powers - essentially to defend the nation, regulate interstate commerce, and provide protections for the citizens...I know there is a lot more there, but I am trying to be succinct. If the church would be the Church, we would provide for the homeless, we would provide for our elderly, we would educate our children and we would demand a smaller government because it wouldn't need all the people and programs to do those things. That is why the cry is that "if MY people will call on my name and TURN from their wicked ways..." What are those wicked ways? Handing over the power and authority of the church to the federal government.
In other words, let's not put prayer in the schoolhouse. I don't want a government-regulated prayer in the schools. Let's put school in the prayerhouse. Let's not worry if the ten commandments is hanging in the courthouse. Let's make sure it is hanging in our house, and in our neighbor's house. Then, by logical extension it will be in the courthouse. |

Amen Bro Doyle.....we have to look upward first, the inward, thennnnnnnnnnnn outward and ask "Lord, send me".....I believe we all play a part in this mess.....when we as christian turn our eyes to God first, then go seriously deeply into ourselves and clean house (or repent), then we need to ask God where he wants us and be willing ourselves to do it.
My place in this situation right now, is that I can only impact those in my part of this US....am I doing that? I'll give you an example of me....last night I had a non christian neighbor come to my door and bring us food! I was won to the Lord, not by hell fire and brimstone speeches, but by a man who showed God's love to me....same for Ken. I have been showing this person love in the same way.....and last night she brought me food.....and I again, spoke of how good God is....and I believe that she will come to believe. I'm reaching out the way God shows me too....and praying, praying, praying. |

Amen brother and sisters. I had this long comment for everyone lastnight and somehow it got erased. Oh well, praise the Lord anyway. Yes I totally agree. Lets stop pointing the finger, gossiping and being hypocrites. We need not spend soooooo much time complaining about what the people in the election are doing or not. Lets remember what we know, that we know, that we know. The word says, "Lift up your voices with with a voice of triumph.."
Mathew 7: 22 -23 "Many people will say on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"
Let us also remember folks that whatever comes of this election there is blessing(s) in every trial; to build character, test our faith or bring the church closer together for His glory. No matter what just keep on doing what you do. Pray without ceasing. If you have done everything to stand then sell your pocessions and remain standing. Also know this, life is temporary and he is always with us, good or evil.
Take a look at Shadrach, Meshach and Abindigo. The three greek boys were thrown into the firery furnance. However while in the fire there was 4. Who was the other person? The Lord. He went THROUGH the fire WITH them Amen? He made sure they did not even have a singe on their clothing and were not touched by the mere exsistance of the smoke. Keep all the miracles at hand and they will carry you through this difficult time.
When thinking of the economy think on the gospel of Mathew...
Do not worry about what to drink, what to wear or what to eat. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your father feeds them. Who by worrying can add a single hour to his life.
The pagans (unbelievers) run after these things. So I ask you are you a pagan or a follower of Jesus Christ?
Stand up and be counted.
P.S. Look to the positive things right now and the negative will be less significant.

If you are talking about my comment the hell fire and brimstone your speaking of is the Gospel. I do believe it starts with us and seeing how I walk the walk I have the right to speak the truth in love. So I'm also gonna say this kindness doesn't save people The Gospel does. The Gospel I read in my Bible tells us we are totally depraved sinners, completely helpless without Jesus Christ,I also would like to say that we sinners need to focus on the Great commission. We need to share the TRUTH with the world and not give in to the wishy washy mumbo jumbo feel good post modern, everything excepted, Gospel. The Gospel is offensive, if we dont swallow our pride and figure out we are helpless without God. The Bible is BLACK AND WHITE It is innerant, infallible and inspired by God. Were either preaching the Gospel Jesus did that crucifies our flesh or we're preaching our own version of the gospel to make it more appealing to someone's flesh. By the way if we are preaching our own Gospel we are giving people a false assurance of Salvation, I for one don't want to be accountable before God for not preaching his word unedited! In the 1800's the neighbor came to visit the new people that came to the mansion in the district of Va. the neighbors came in and found traps on the floor and the couple greeted them to come on in for supper then came one of their children came running through the hall with a cart and horse.The neighbor just didn't know about these new family the Lincoln family the mansion was The White House!!!
William Wallage Lincoln and his brother decided to have a circus on the roof of their home.They used their pets as well as their neighborhood friends' pets for the animals in the circus.
