Pride
Comes into our hearts
To hide.
It can be so invisible
That we won't even notice it
Until we're miserable.
Pride
Tells us we need not God
To walk close by our side.
It even makes golden lies so sweet
Leaving us eating sin like meat.
Pride
Lifts you up so high
Till you fall on your backside.
You'll blame the devil for your pain,
Not knowing your pride is spreading like rain.
See yourself like God sees you.
Without Christ you see,
You're filthy according to God's point of view.
Pride has no room in God's equation.
Stop being so high up
And go proclaim Christ to our nation.
God wasn't filled with pride
When he sent His Son
To be pierced in His side,
So humble yourself
and abide
in Him
And let Him guide.
Humble yourself...
And rid yourself of
PRIDE.
11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom. |
