53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. Once I stopped by my wife’s work to say hello about noon. Suddenly a lady who works in the building came rushing in hysterically sobbing and saying; “A man just shot somebody and ran away!” Several people jumped into action comforting the lady, calling 911, and checking outside the front door to make sure the gunman wasn’t coming our way.
A couple of people went out the side door to check on the victim. He was a young man and had been shot three times in his right thigh. The lady who saw it said that a man came up to him and demanded money and then pulled out a gun and shot him.
The ambulance and police got there in about ten minutes. All the chaos, alarm, and confusion shook me up. The senseless violence in our society is not just statistics or news reports or a crime drama for our viewing pleasure. The violence in our society is a terrible reality! It creates terrorism, distress, and anxiety for millions of Americans.
Later the same day, a man who was court ordered to the rehab where I used to work, came by my office and asked if he could read something to me. He opened a Bible to Isaiah and began to read out loud: “He was wounded for our transgression.” His voice started to crack and he began to cry as he continued to read: “He was bruised for iniquities.”
We looked at each other as we both felt a sense of holy awe. Then he said: “I was reading this a few minutes ago and it did something inside of me.” He hugged me and said, “I love you, Steve,” and left my office.
Cold, hard-hearted violence or compassionate, tender-hearted love — which do you choose? |

How God must feel every time His Children are so cruel to one another... But I know How He feels when we are kind and loving to each other, that's what I want to do, be kind and lift people up and encourage. God is awesome and of love, and He said if we have no love then we don't know Him because God is love. Maybe if people would see how much they are hurting God when we kill, Mame and hurt one another wither it is physical or mentally...
Good blog Steve, God bless you and your family. |

| I'm once again in awe by how God can love us... we are such powerful beings, pure good and pure evil reside at our finger tips and pull on our will. Even when we sway in arms of evil it shakes not this great love that God continually whispers to us. Your story was a beautiful picture of humanity's free will/the created and beloved of the Almighty. |

Steve you mess me up everytime, however my question, and i know the answer but i would like to get it from you to see if we are on the same page, or if i need to go further in my study, why is it not considered love when you speak the word of God to a brother/sister and they get convicted because God is sick and tired of being sick and tired, your always accused of being condemning and judgemental, that is why i loved your blog on judging.....because i wont except your behavior. Correct me if i am wrong the Word of God still says that He chastises those whom He loves, right? So i ask again when God sends you with a word of correction and it is done with all the love that the Spirit of God gives to speak that word, and you know it has pricked the heart because you see the enemy get angry, it is said that it was not done in love |
