  This verse has quickly become very important to me. Until I read the NIV translation a couple weeks ago which says "mortal man" instead of "mere flesh," I never really applied it to myself. Because of everything I have experienced in life so far, I have alot of fears. Most of them have to do with being harmed physically or emotionally by other people. I cried when I read this! I wish I had this verse in my heart sooner. (Not that I didn't trust God before that, but it just made me realize that while others do have the power to hurt me, nothing can be that bad because this life can't last forever.) I also showed my brother this in the NIV translation. It has quickly become his favorite verse as well, because it relates to any injuries he could ever be at risk of sustaining in his sport.
