| Where have you been? |

Where have you been lately? I don't mean to the store or work or any physical place. Where have you been spiritually? Let me tell you where I've been. The last couple of months, if I'm honest it's actually been longer than that, I've been driving spiritualy empty. Getting nowhere fast! The past week I've stopped long enough for God to fill me up. It's amazing what God can do when we just look up at Him. If you look long enough He can fill you with Joy like you've never felt before.
For me it all started when I started listening to a series by Ed Young Sr. It's a modified Christ centered 12 step program. The first step was to acknowledge that there was something wrong with my life and that I couldn't fix it on my own. I had to fully, FULLY, surrender it to God. I had to first acknowledge something was wrong and surrender to God.
Do you know that God never moves? We're the ones that move. We move our focus for just a little bit and we feel like we're miles away from Him, when all the time He's right there, waiting.
So, that's all it took. I only needed to look toward Him. Can you believe it's that simple? I first can't believe how simple it is for me to shift my focus away from God. Second, I am amazed at how fast and completely God can capture my heart!
Below is a poem I heard last week. I thought it was beautiful. It's a sweet reminder that life isn't always going to go the way we have planned. It's not always going to be easy. It's not always going to be smooth...but if we remember...God is always right there with us.
The Bend in the Road Author: Helen Steiner Rice
Sometimes we come to life's crossroads And we view what we think is the end. But God has a much wider vision And he knows that it's only a bend-
The road will go on and get smoother And after we've stopped for a rest, The path that lies hidden beyond us Is often the path that is best.
So rest and relax and grow stronger, Let go and let God share your load And have faith in a brighter tomorrow- You've just come to a bend in the road.
