Held Up

With canvas before me and brush in hand 
Watching a burning bush barefooted I stand

Painting my life and the dreams that had died
Too many nights a frightened child had cried

Capturing every detail of failure and doubt
There were many things I was not sure about

Drawing from my past when I had disobeyed
Ignoring GOD's answers when I had prayed

Wasted potential and a desolate life
Always surrounded by conflict and strife

My finished painting is held up so all could see
But the canvas was empty or was it me



Disappointed by my efforts tears began to fall
When from the burning bush I heard GOD call

He told me to be quiet and to be still
The emptiness within He would fill

He opened my eyes so I could see
What it was that He desired of me



And then I began to paint once again
Finally free from the bondage of sin

With brilliant colors of new life and hope
Cascading from the gloom of Calvary's slope

Mercy overflowing the banks of grace
Forgiveness for all who see His face

The Cross became my holy destination
Not feeling or power or spiritual sensation

Unnoticed a small child plants a seed
From his offered lunch a multitude feed

The painting is held up for all to see
A burning bush as GOD speaks thru me

A new life is there for anyone who asks for it. Confess...Accept.....Trust......Believe.........God is good all the time........ Thanks for commenting on my Turkey Blog......Being able to minister to those who otherwise would continue to travel down the wrong path, is certainly a true blessing.........
