| My Refuge |

On the way to Divisional Headquarters last week I past some old World War 2 Pill Boxes now standing lonely in farmers fields and protected as grade 1 buildings. They look so out of place next to a busy duel carriage way and I'm sure that there are many drivers/passengers who probably don't even know what they are and their orginal purpose.
Of course, during the war, they were errected for our protection against the enemy but they are now well past their sell by date - they only thing they would protect me against now is the cold, wind and rain.
That's why I love these verses from the Psalms because they remind me that God's protection never goes out of date and in Him I can always find peace and comfort from the enemy.
My Jesus, My Saviour, Lord, there is none like You. All of my days I want to praise The wonders of Your might love. My comfort, my shelter, Tower of refuge and strength, Let every breath, all that I am, Never cease to worship You...
91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, 91:2 will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." |
