The fruit of the Spirit grows only in the garden of obedience. (Terry Fullam)
Don't Walk in My Shadow by: Sherri Lynn
Don't walk in my shadow, walk by my side
Know that within a true bond does abide
For the Master's example, each of us a saint
The vision created is one that we paint
With the things that we say, actions we do
With prayer and forgiveness, spirituality shines through
We cannot be perfect yet strive to suppress
The imperfections not hidden spiritual undress
For God sees what truly dwells our heart
The elements of Him with which we impart
An example for others, to accept, to forgive
To imitate Jesus' life for as long as we live
We will step off the path, but must always return
Accepting the atonement we didn't even earn
But effort and passion to follow His step
Will lead to fruition and He will come to expect
His commandments be kept as best we can
Knowing full well the nature of man
Created in His image we're blessed and rely
His omnipotent presence is always close by
The inner spirit we hear, that we must accept
Assuredly doubt unworthy and often inept
The reflection of His grace ever harbored within
Accepting today and with tomorrow begin
the road
home

Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. (John Wooden)
