She danced on her daddy's feet, ran through fields with no shoes, climbed bluffs and swam in ponds. The beginning of the journey, she can still smell the rain on the dirt road. She owned a mountain, or so she thought. There was no fear.
She felt awkward those teen years. Just wanting to be loved, to feel good about herself, the ugly duckling. Everything inside crying for someone to look past the exterior, for her heart was real. This journey was no fun, too many long roads with no end in sight. So much fear, so little comfort. And she struggled along.
Sons dancing on her feet, in them she had joy. The road was still long, but there was beauty in it now. The beauty of innocence in their hearts and eyes. Even with the beauty, there was a longing, an emptiness, she needed something, but what she didn't know. And the road winds on.
Curves in the road, the boys are teens. Bumps and potholes. Then the light breaks through the trees and she sees the mountain top of God. HE pulls her up to enjoy the view. The emptiness gone, HE filled it. HE carried her through the journey to HIS mountain top.
The road winds on with many hills and valleys. The journey is a rollercoaster ride on this road. But, HE is with her still. HE has never left her nor will HE ever. So, she'll stay on this road, hills and valleys, rain and sunshine, because HE is with her......
The Blessings in our journeys is that He is there even when we didn't know Him like we do now. He was there. He's here NOW. AMAZING GOD, AMAZING GRACE. Thanks for sharing the Journey.
Angela: isn't it strange how journeys can be alike? This month has been alot of thinking about my journey, I'll be 50 next week, sooooooo I'm doing alot of looking back......and I see clearly where I was and where HE was with me.
CindyLou, Thank you so very much for sharing this with us...as I was reading it that song came to mind...No never alone, no never alone, He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone... It is good to know that we have a God that will not leave us nor forsake us, no matter how low the valley may be, or long and hard the road may get...He's right there by our side to bring us to our expected end...Victorious! Thanks again Sister;o)
