When I was "re-born" or "born again" I was born to be against the so-called genetic tendency group behavior excuses!!! Thank the Lord Jesus when I can't do it,HE can!!! Like the song says Take your burdens to the Lord and Leave Them There"...

JESUS was tempted in all points like as we...yet without sin....He goes on to say that we can do ALL things through Christ, which strengthens us...Well so much for excuses....and the devil made me do it...People do things because they WANT to do them...but they CAN stop if they want to....(of course, it's a growth process...and it will not happen over night...BUT....Let God's Word be true ;o)

1 Corinthians 9:27 But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit]. Great Post Steve.

WOW Amen! Thanks for sharing! I think this is my favorite part

We humans have the ability to resist and to overcome any craving or “genetic tendency” that hits us. We are not irrational animals who have no choice but to obey our instincts.

5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

"Some of these shared characteristics are particularly clear in the study of great apes, genetically our closest living relatives. In fact, in a very real sense, we aren’t just related to apes, but we humans are
great apes—the Fifth Great Ape species, along with orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees and bonobos."

The People (Not Apes/Monkeys) Who Think They Have Irresistable Genetic Instincts To Commit Abominations/Sins...Are The Very Same People Who Claim They Are Monkeys!  Monkeys!  Did I Say They Claim They Are Monkeys?  Uh...I Don't Envy Their Educational Levels.

Amen to that brother. We wouldn't have much hope for salvation if we couldn't control ourselves. We wouldn't need salvation at all because that would mean God made us to sin, but He didn't. He made us to love Him, and dwell with Him in holiness. We cannot do that as we are, because we are sinfull by nature, but He took care of that by sacrificing Himself- Jesus who was a man, but God and God's son (The Trinity is hard to explain.) because He is the only holy and perfect being without sin- for our sins. If we believe this, truly repent our sins, die to our flesh, and live for God, not for our desires then we will see God. As a former sinner, this is now my motivation- Seeing God.
