| If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin andheal their land15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayermade in this place. This tells us that if our country will humble our selves , repent , and ask God will hear from Heaven and is faithful and will healour land. But remember what happened to Isreal when they rebelled aginst God and what happened to them not just once but many times.God was faithful and restored their land, every time they repented and humbled themselves. This is where our country is today and this is what we need to do if we want to get back in His faviour. This has to start some place so let it fall on me,let me start a revivle here in Necedah WI. Then let us contact the leaders of our land and ask them to repent and humble them selves, and the people of this Great and wonderful land that God gave us repent and humble themselves. Then shell we see God's work [16] For now I have chosen and sactified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. |

Hi Robert! I think there is a lot of truth in what you've written. I also think we need to note how this passage begins, "If my people who are called by my name", and therefore distinguish just who God's people are. When this was written, during the reign of Solomon, it referred to Abraham's literal seed, the nation of Israel. Now however, it can be said to include the spiritual seed of Abraham, those who have been redeemed by the blood of the Savior...you and me, and all of our Christian brethren!! But does it include the United States of America as a nation? In my opinion, it does not, since there is no justification to call non-believers in this great land "God's people". The US isn't God's chosen nation, as Israel is/was. But nevertheless, God certainly assigned us this land, and expects us all to humble ourselves and pray and seek his face and repent from wickedness. Otherwise, judgment and disaster certainly may befall this nation, just as it has every other wicked Gentile nation in history, including Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, etc. Great blog! |

| Great thoughts. I do also agree with Mike. I do understand your heart behind this and I do think the challenge should go out there to God's choosen people to humble themselves, repent, and pray for this great nation. I don't believe God will heal this land I actually believe He is going to pour out His judgement on it soon.... He may have already started actually. |

We are notliveing in the chosen land, but we are a people that are blessed and exceptedbrothers with christ w/God as our Father. are you saying that we are notGods people or that we are not His people, I tell you this that Jesus died for Robert and all who will except hin as their Lord and Saviour He will wash away allof our sin's and make us aires with Jesus. at this we are addopted into the family and become joint aires with Jesus. I will give you this that we are in the end times, the time is short for us here on earth. Ithink Jesus could come back before I finish what I'm doing here. I think what I should have said is pray for our gov. that they might be filled with the Holy Spirit and except Jesus as their Lord and Saviour to bring our country back in step with God that we night have a reviveal. Then agin we have no faith because as you say you don't believe that God will heal this land and if you have no faith in it then you might just as will not pray.Matt.17:20 says that faith removes moutains / Mark11:24therefore I say to you, whatever you ask when you pray, believethat you receive them and you will have them. Matt. 17:20][Hebrews10:38Now the just shell live by faith;But if anyone draws back,My soul has nopleasure in him. But without faith it is impossibleto please Him, for he whi comes to God must believe thatHe is, andthat Heis a rewarder ofthose who diligently seek Him. |

| what does the word CHRISTIAN mean? if I am right it means Christ like,,,,people that accept Christ as their Lord and Savior are Christians,,,and the verse that Bob quoted in the first place says that if ....the people who are called by My name, will repent and pray, He will be faithful to do His part.....how many other people are named or called by Christs name? It is the Christians,,,,therefore , the Christians of this nation are being told that they are to pray for the nation and depart from the wicked ways,,,,well granted all people here in the U.S are not Christians, but those of us that are, have a God given responsibility to Pray for others and our nation, and yes I beleive we are in the end times and that we are on the road for great punishment for the wicked things that this nation are allowing to take place....but, please, beleive that you are asked by God to pray for others and repent so that others will turn to Christ also......hope this is written plainly and that no one misunderstands my meaning.....this is a wicked nation.....may God spare us and bless us too..... |
