Jeremiah 29:13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. NKJV
Do you remember playing Hide and Seek as a child? I do, and I remember that it was not always easy to find my friends or my siblings as they hid all over the place, whether we played indoors or out. God isn't necessarily hiding from us, but we often think He is. We want Him to do something, move something right in front of us as though He were a poltergeist or something from a movie. Whisper something in our ear like our best friend would when telling a secret. Whatever, we always want that. The objective found here in Jeremiah is that if we seek Him we will find Him in the least likely of places, especially if you and I put that effort into the search. We can't just do it half-heartedly or haphazardly. We have to commit all of our heart to the search for God's grace.
All of us have a different voyage toward realizing God's purpose in our lives and our purpose in His life. Yes, if God exists, then He lives, not in the same way as we do, but as the breath of life. Think about it, my friends and colleagues, if God had not breathed life into Adam and Eve, then not one of us would be here. It is that hidden part of God each of us would possess, the breath of life. And for those of us who have suffered dire injury and required the kiss of life in regard to rescuscitation, all of you know what it is like to have this one well hidden and often forgotten gift returned to us once more.
Don't play hide and seek with God. God only wants each of us to realize just who and what He is. Some days we need to be quiet, others we need to be loud like a playground at recess. Listen to your heart, and listen to your soul, listen to your inner voice, because God lives there, hiding where we can seek Him.
Now, don't you love to play this game? It has wonderful rewards.
