While I was still in prayer, Gabriel... came to me... He instructed me and said to me, "Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed." Daniel 9:21, 22-23
Daniel was a man who sought diligently after the Lord. In every situation and circumstance in life, Daniel turned to God through prayer. His dedication to God and his devotion to living a life of continual prayer were examples to the people around him. And as he continued to put his trust in God and yield himself to God, Daniel found himself being used by God in more and more spectacular ways.
Can you imagine receiving this same kind of immediate, clear direction through your prayers? Can you imagine being used by God to do remarkable things? The truth is that it can happen. And Daniel's life serves as a source of inspiration for us today.
God has a plan for your life; it's a plan to take you places you never dreamed you'd go and use you in ways that you never imagined possible. To discover that plan, to make the most of all that God has in store for you, take a cue from Daniel's life. In every situation and circumstance, look first to God through prayer. Fall humble before him each day, and allow God's plan to be revealed to you.
A Prayer for Today Dear God, I know that you have an amazing agenda for my life. I know that you want to take me to heights I've never been and use me in ways I've never dreamed of. So as I go through each day you have given me, help me remain faithful to you through prayer. Help me to rely on you. And as I do, I ask that you reveal your plan for my life. It is through Jesus Christ that I pray all of this. Amen.
