Old. Half a century. Yeah, that's me, woooooooohooooooooooo! I'm a 6 year old trapped in a 50 year old woman's body!!!!
What have I learned in the half of a century?
Life is NOT worth it without God.
When you truly love someone, heart and soul, God can work miracles!
It hurts like hell to lose your daddy, even when you're 49.
Being friends with the one you love is more important than all that other stuff!
Grandbabies are the best!!!! (sorry my sons, it's true)
God can make someone so much like you, it's scary!
True friends love you in spite of yourself. :)
The ground is harder when you fall.
You appreciate aches and pains, thanking God you're alive to hurt.
Fifty year olds aren't old, unless they want to be.
Tears well up more easily, you can just say your eyes are sweating.
Family is more important, jobs less important.
I know who I am and like it!
Life is beautiful, even when your circumstances suck!
A good husband means the world to me :)
I may grow old, but I will never grow up.
I've earned every wrinkle and gray hair.
Normal life isn't good enough, I want the best God has to give.
Now, here was my birthday. Sis was out of town, but left me a dozen black roses, hehehehe.
Youngest called on his lunch, said he got a strange call, I asked who? He replied, "Area Agency on Aging. They knew my mom was old and wanted to know if I needed help in taking care of her!"
Ken got up early and made me a beautiful card on poster board, complete with flowers and butterfly he'd drawn........will cherish it forever. Sigggggggghhhhhhh, I do love him so much!!!!!!
restore called and sang to me a beautiful birthday song.

Having cake and ice cream with mom, Ken, youngest son and family tonight.
Oldest son and family took me out to eat Asian food Sunday after church for my birthday.
Cards, ohhhhhhhh yes.........cards......all sitting on my piano.
To sum it up..........I'm 50 and loving it!!!!! Thank you Lord!!!!!!!

Update: First, let me explain that my two oldest grandchildren are not mine by blood. They are a gift from God that came when my sons married their mothers. They chose to allow me to be their grandmother, and that in itself is one of the biggest blessings in my life.
So, added to the things I've learned
Ya don't have the same blood running through you to be family :)
Now, as to the rest of my birthday.
My 14 year old granddaughter (not blood) asked me how old I am. I said "50!!!!!" She said, "NO big deal, my nana (blood) is ALOT older (hehehehe, only 3 years difference)!!!!!" This made my day....see I'm still young!
My "little Cindy" granddaughter told me I was her best friend forever.......I said " BFF?" She said, "What's that?" I explained. seeeeeeeee, 50 year olds understand stuff, hehehehehehe

| Fantastic Cindy!! Fifty stars for you:) You could be my daughter, but at least we ARE sisters! Life is good when you have the Lord and know where you are going. I too have three grand children that are not by blood, one adopted at birth and two when my son married a most remarkable woman that means the world to me. They are as much mine as my 22 others. God bless you Cindy, and happy 50! I remember when the youth group gave my husband a 50th birthday party. A big sign in the church, 50's nifty, our Pasor's fifty. Our congregation was not too impressed with the saying since more than half of them were in their 70's. Now that I am in their age group, it's not so bad, just 40 plus 10 plus 10 plus 10. You know, there are not too many people that I can connect to, however, you happen to be one... I love your sense of humor and your general outlook on life. God blessed us to be 50 and Older(who me?)LOL and I thank Him for each precious day. We have earned the right to have grey hair, wrinkles and all those other funny looking lumps and bumps that just appeared one day. I am sooooo glad you had a wonderful birthday and don't those grandkids just make it for you??? Ken too... LOL
