| Don't read this book!!! |

There are a whole series of these "Conversations with God" books. Some for adults, teens, grads, kids, dads, moms...you name it. The are all written by or edited by Neale Donald Walsch.
DO NOT GIVE THESE BOOKS AS GIFTS!!
The titles sound great. The first few pages of the book sound great. They are written that way to lure you in. They are not of God. They do not represent a Biblical worldview. The books are set up as questions being asked to God and God giving answers. In the one for teens, for example, Jenny, age 16, asks "Why am I a lesbian?" The "god" in the book responds, "You are a lesbian, Jenny, for the same reason you are left handed or right handed, have brown eyes, or any other characteristic that makes you "you"...go now, out into the world and celebrate who you are...celebrate all that makes you one with the Universe." There are many more similar instances where the "god" of the book speaks differently than the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Some stores - even Christian Boos Stores - promote these as great graduation gifts. Don't do it. |

I have read/skimmed most of the Walsch books. At our local book store, they are in the occult section. In the library, they are in the Christian section!!! I read for research purposes only. This is a very popular belief system growing!!!!! (FYI...this is Ellen Degenris (Sp?) belief system.... When you see "Just be" as someone's motto...that's what it's from! |

I'm all for not reading. Wait, that didn't come out right. |

Thanks for the thoughts. It sure ws deceptive to me and the publisher didn't offer any insight into them.
On another note...wonder why my pics of the books are so bad? |

Zach, works for me...will check her out when I get a chance...
Angie thanks for the larger, clearer pic. I was just wondering if my eyes were getting that bad. Guess not.
This is the type of book that a buyer in a Christian book store is easily fooled by. The publisher sends you a picture of the cover and one or two page sampling, wants you to buy a few hundred and based on about 5 minutes of research you have to make a decision. Mistakes happen. We had these in our store (my wife did the purchase). Once we realized what they were, we boxed them up and shipped them back. The publisher wouldn't give us a refund (gave us a credit).
It is hard to screen books for a store because there are so many ways marekting folks like to try to hide the real content. Any time you can share content that is offensive, most Christian book store owners are very thankful. |

Someone I know has read these books and shares Walsch's beliefs. Their comment was "It's what I've been looking for all of these years." It is a whatever feels right for you....is right. No right or wrong, no sin, no hell, no devil...think about it...if in this certain blief...if there is no sin and no hell....then there is no need for a Savior! I think I will post more on this topic later. DC - the good think about this site, is that maybe we can help with the researching books part with posts like this one you did. LOVE the book store! |

| Thanks for the heads up, Voice. You just can't trust anything by the cover anymore I don't guess. |
|
|
| i make it a point not to read books dealing with a persons opinion on god and his will i think the bible explains it all. man kind is imperfect so there for our knowledge would also be imperfect. and sin means imperfection as well. |

| Crystal just sent out a bulletin about these books. Time to make everybody aware again!! |

|
| Thats right Aaron, "Never judge a book by it's cover" Some peoples views on life really bothers me. I'm just glad we have people and friends on this site to help send the correct messages out to everyone. Great post voice. |
