21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. This was a all out attack against David and to understand why Satan did this we go back to 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown. The "fallen angels produced the "serpent seed" that satan used to defile the world before and after the flood. The "book of Enoch" goes into detail on the evils that were taught to man which in a sense explains the world today .war ,violence ,drugs ,immoral sex ,homosexuality, and all other evils we deal with today. But why David ,because he and his followers had destroyed the "flesh ,not the spirit of the "serpent seed". 20:4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, [that was] of the children of the giant: and they were subdued. 20:5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff [was] like a weaver's beam. 20:6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, whose fingers and toes [were] four and twenty, six [on each hand], and six [on each foot]: and he also was the son of the giant. 20:7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him. 20:8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants. He had alredy killed Goliath earlier and he and his soldiers took the rest of them out. This is why Satan attacked David ,because no longer would the physical form be able to attack but only the spirit. 30:12 When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when [thou] numberest them. 30:13 This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel [is] twenty gerahs:) an half shekel [shall be] the offering of the LORD. David did not keep the second verse of this so the first one was fullfilled. His actions stated that "redemption has no price" which we all know it does. The first way to turn back the attack is to become humble
22:29 When [men] are cast down, then thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. JOB 22:29
9:12 When he maketh inquistions for blood,he remembereththem :he forgettethnot the cry of the humble. 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. to be humbled means to take correction from God 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 12:10 For they verily for a few days chastened [us] after their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we] might be partakers of his holiness. 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. When we accept correction we are the better for it .The next way is to build a altar ,in David's days it was for a sacrifice since we don't sacrifice now the altar is a place to talk with God.It can be anywhere that is quiet where you and God can meet one on one.Personally Igo back to nature and go for a walk in the woods for deep conversation with God away from the "hustle and bustle .Where ever you feel comfortable and you feel a "closeness "that is the place Third is prayer ,Icould not begin to quote all the scripture but here is one. 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. In closing just because we are "Christians "don't think we are immune to the attacks of Satan because Jesus himself was not even immune to them 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 4:5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 4:7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. If Jesus himself was tempted we will be to ,humility , meeting with God and fervent prayer will chase him away and you can also add praise to that the Devil hates praise ,that is probably the most awesome weapon next to "talking in tounges" .God Bless! |
