And all earthly cares lose their significance when we are lost in praising Him!

AMEN

That song takes me back!  The Lord liveth and blessed be my rock, blessed be my savior!  May the God of my salvation be exalted.  Just think Kathy that used to be contemporary cutting edge praise and worship!

Fears are bombarding us right now and this is such a great reminder to keep our eyes focused on the One who will guide us through the storm...

Amen Kathy ~

I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Wow, Mary!  Did I say that?!   :)

Todd, you're showing our age!  Cutting edge it was!

Amen, Voice.  When we are lost in Him, there's no guarantee our earthly fears won't come to fruition, but there's a guarantee our earthly concerns are not what really matters!

Amen, Mike!  Great addition!

I am sure of that, Jerry!!

More great songs from chapter 19:

from v. 14:

There's a great chorus from vv. 7, 10 ("The law of the Lord is perfect . . . More to be desired are they than gold . . .") also, but I didn't find it on GodTube or YouTube.

It looks like I'm going to be singing and worshiping all through my reading of the Psalms!  Psalm 24: 3-4 ("Who shall ascend to the hill of the Lord? . . .") and Psalm 25:1-2 (Unto Thee O Lord do I lift up my soul . . .Let me not be shamed.  Let not mine enemies triumph over me.")  Does anyone have a link to any of these choruses, or maybe have them in your personal playlist?!  Wouldn't be be fun to have a gathering just to worship through Psalm choruses!

OK,
to take you really far back, do you remember Scripture in Song and Ted Sandquist's Courts of the King?

I am including a link for some of the early stuff on teh Jesus-music mp3 site...all out of print stuff....

Also if anyone wants drop me a message and I'll see if I can find some of theother OOP stuff you might be interested in hearing.

Oh, Dennis, you stumped me!  Other than what we sang in church (mostly hymns, and a few "Pass it On" type songs) my "Jesus music" doesn't go back much further than about 1980.  I do recognize a few of the names, however:  David Meece, DeGarmo and Key . . .  Thanks for taking us back!!

I'm still singing though the Psalms.  Ps. 34:3 "Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!"  Youtube had several versions of this, but I didn't find the version I'm familiar with.

Tonight I got to my favorite of all Psalm choruses, Ps. 42:1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZv3jzOTE70
I blogged about this one a few months ago: http://www.mychurch.org/blog/148378/as-the-deer

Then 46:1 was the inspiration for Martin Luther's great hymn "A Mighty Fortress Is our God":  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7YPaOD4PPQ

Still enjoying the Psalms!  Chapter 47:  Clap your hands, all the people . . . What a fun chorus!  And then 51:10-12!  Along with Ps. 42:1, my favorite of all Psalm .  Worship with me to Keith Green's version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwUroyJLg9A  For me, it's impossible to listen to this one without falling before the Father in worship!

I'm still singing through the Psalms!  Psalm 57 "Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!  Let Thy Glory Be Over All the Earth!"  Psalm 68:1:  "Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered."  Psalm 91:5-7:  "I will not fear before the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day . . . though a thousand men may fall at your side . . ."  Psalm 100:  "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands!  Serve the Lord with gladness!  come into His presence with singing!  Kniow ye that the Lord is God!  It is he that made us . . . we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with Thanksgiving and his courts with praise!  Give thanks to  him and bless his name!  For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures for ever, and his faithfulness to all generations."  And Psalm 103:  Bless the Lord, O My Soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name!"  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbHV2TYGVso
