| Nobody reading your blogs? |
|
| |
I used to think that too. I'm pretty sure you and I are not the only ones thinking that either. Yes, I am talking to you. Actually, it might just be God speaking to you through me. Pay attention...
Dave used to get discouraged too. All ministers do. And all Christians are ministers. You too!
We see it all the time. A great sermon but nobody gets saved. A great teaching but no interaction occurs from the students. An awesome blog topic and nobody is "clicking" on it to see what you have to say.
Well, not actually nobody. One or two read your blog. And you know what? It only takes one "read" to change everything. Why? Because that one reader might just be the one person that God was looking for when "you" decided to write that blog. Maybe it wasn't you alone writing...
Don't underestimate yourself or keep the Holy Spirit inside you. Remember...
55:11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Soooo... Don't worry that you did not get a gazillion "stars" and twice that many "reads" on your blog. The glory is not yours to have. The glory belongs to God. And through you, He was able to speak to that one solitary person that He wanted to reach. |

| Thanks for the thoughts. He is the one that we are trying to bring glory to, not ourselves. It is important to remember that. I write because I love to write, and I hope that it touches someone, but if it doesn't, I know that God sees it,and He is who I am writing for! Thanks for the great blog. |

| Pastor Dave, this is beautiful. Granted the Lord has many ways to steer us toward one course of action and away from another. One method might be low readership. But then He could also convict us so strongly to write that we find utter joy in a readership of One! ~mike |

I would like to add one thing to this, if I may :)...
I have found that one of the best ways to increase your own traffic; is to read, comment and star other people blogs. Not that you do this to receive traffic. No, you do this to bless others. And guess what happens?.....The blessing comes right back to you, just like the Word says. I like when the communication goes both ways. I comment on theirs and then they come and comment on mine. It really gets the fellowship going. And you can meet some wonderful people this way! So go ahead, give it a try. Rather then worry about why you aren't getting action, go see to it that others get action. Always seek to bless and not to be blessed, and you just watch what God does!! |

You aren't kidding MaryAnn! Call me shameless, call me what you want, but it works! I call it free advertising. If we are willing to pay for it, why won't we take advantage of it when it is free? It really does the job :) |

This is so true Pastor Dave! What i love most about this whole crazy blogging thing (especially when it comes to church members), is we have a story to tell. And it's not up to us who, where, when, and how it's recieved,.. because it's God's story. Some of the best blogs I've ever read were written over 2 years ago.. 2 long years ago, someone decided to write what was on their heart. Talk about patience! If all of us were to sit back and think "I don't need to share in what God is doing here because no one's listening to me anyway", I think we'd all be missing out on lots of opportunities to praise Him! Thank you for the good words, Pastor D! |

Great post! I used to get sad when I first began writing, but after low visitors to my website and here on MyChurch blogs, God sat me down one day and spoke this Scripture to me:
15:58 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord. So now I don't worry who reads or stars my blogs! It's all for God's glory and He'll bring the people to the page that He desires to read it!
Blessings!! |

| Prudence, Amen and Amen! God uses you in many ways and many times you have no idea that He is using you. I just LOVE the way that God uses each one of us. Even this site's co-founder, Joe, has been instrumental in helping ME to remember what I preach. Thank you Prudence and thank you Joe! |
