So many people today including Chrisitan people have been beat down with those things that come into their lives and do not really know how to live victorious lives. People let us down, hurt us, abuse us and many other things. I am going to share with you the LIFE transforming power of the Word Of God. Do you remember what had happened to Joseph in the Old Testament. Let us look at the scriptures for a bit here and meditate upon them. 41:51 And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, [said he], hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house. 41:52 And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. God caused Joseph to completely forget all his hardships and what he went through by his brothers selling him into slavery. The word toil in the original Hebrew Masoretic text means trouble, labour, and mischief. Not only did the Lord God cause Joseph to forget all his troubles, God caused Joseph to fruitful in his land of affliction. Many of you know of the very difficult time Job went through so let us look at the scriptures here a bit: 11:16 Because thou shalt forget [thy] misery, [and] remember [it] as waters [that] pass away: 11:17 And [thine] age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning. 11:18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig [about thee, and] thou shalt take thy rest in safety. 11:19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make [thee] afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee. Here again we see the Lord God causing Job to forget all his misery and troubles and how Job would shine and be secure. Now if the Lord God can cause Joseph and now Job to forget all their troubles and the things that has happened to him he can do it for you. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. Now let us look at the Psalms: Ps 34:18
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. KJV Ps 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. KJV 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 66:2 For all those [things] hath mine hand made, and all those [things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this [man] will I look, [even] to [him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound; 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. 61:5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien [shall be] your plowmen and your vinedressers. 61:6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: [men] shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. 61:7 For your shame [ye shall have] double; and [for] confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. God's Word is powerful if we believe it. Have much more to say but am going to have to start another blog for this. Garry--Just the ordinary guy
