Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? Amos 3:3 NKJV.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accordin one place. Acts 2:1 NKJV. Here we have a beautiful illustration of being in total agreement, according to Acts chapter 2, these were men and women from every nation under heaven (see Acts 2:5) some spoke different language, yet all of them had one agenda, they were of one mind and one purpose and that purpose was to do exactly what our Lord told them to do, and that was to wait on the promise of God.
These men and women walked with God, they were in total agreement with all that God was telling them or would tell them to do. They were more than willing to take on their perspective roles, and that being children of the almighty God, And as we all know a child should always do exactly as his or her parent tells them to do. There are roles that we all must take on in this life, whether it be humbling ourselves under the mighty hand of God, or as a good husband and taking on the role of leader of our household, or as a good wife and taking on the role of helper and following her husband’s leadership as he follows the leadership of Christ, then and only then can we walk together!
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? The answer is an unequivocal NO! God and man cannot walk together unless they are in agreement, and neither can man and woman. Unless they meet together, and appoint a time and place, when and where they shall set out, what road they will take, or whether or not they will even go; without such conversation and agreement, it cannot be thought or even speculated that they can walk together; at least not amicably, unless united in friendship, and are of the same affection to each other, and of the same sentiments one for another; they will be hard pressed to stay in union with one another. The design of these words is to show, that without friendship there is no fellowship, and without concord no communion; as this is the case between man and man, so to between God and man; We can see this illustrated in nature itself.
In January of 1995 it was reported that an earthquake in Kobe, Japan, occurred when the two plates on the fault line 15 miles offshore suddenly shifted against each other, violently lurching six to 10 feet in opposite directions. The result was the worse Japanese earthquake since 1923 thousands died. More than 46,000 buildings lay in ruins. 1/5 of the city’s population was left instantly homeless. The destruction unleashed by those two Tectonic plates depicts what happens when people attempt to walk together when they are not in total agreement either with man and woman or man and his God two entities committed to each other but going in different directions can only lead to mass destruction.
At some point in time in all of our lives we will come to the revelation that together we make up one single body and that we belong to each other and that God has called us to be a source of life for eachother (J. Harkins)
