I think The Lord does see us that way .. you know how when your little one hits 4 and is saying all this stuff that amazes you they even picked up on things that are on that level .. then they say something so cute you and naive you are beside yourself with both pride and amusement? God is charmed by us when there is innocence and ashamed of us when there is malice (in my humble opinion,of course).

And YOUR child is a talker ?...what a shocker !

Luv ya

Mike: I have to tell you, you're a saint.....two daughters, lol. I had two boys. When I ended up with 4 granddaughters, I knew why God gave me boys, lol. My oldest has two sons....then two daughters. He told his wife the other day that he doesn't remember the first two being as animated as the third (she's 2 1/2).....my daughter n love said " Dear, the first two were boys!!!!!"......I giggled and said "And you've got one more girl (3 mo.) to go through this with!".......Ahhhhhhhh, dads and their daughters, hehehehe

CindyLou, before our first child was born, I wanted a son!!! But then my first child was born....a daughter. She changed my life! She SAVED my life! Besides God, my children come a close second to my wife in terms of what they've done to influence my life for the better. My only regret? That we stopped at 3. I think that a family of 10 would be fun!! Wait, make that 12, we could have two volleyball teams!! lol

Happy bday to your daughter.. my sister and I were the same way.  We also shared a room when we were younger and still talk our dad's ear off!  Great reminder that our Heavenly Father longs to listen as well.

LOL...delightful responses! Thank you for the birthday wishes for our daughter, my friends!

Keith, yes, we get much from them....from God!

Stevie, God is indeed a far better listener than we. So given our rapt attention given to our dear children, that says much about the way he listens to us!

Marilyn, bless your heart sister (you've sure blessed mine!)

Carebear...those are sweet memories I'm sure. I'm so glad I found the opportunity to blog on one of my own!!!

What I can't comprehend is that God listens to millions of voices at once.  How does he put the voice to the person?  Just how many different languages does he understand?  Does he have to turn up the volume for some prayers and turn it down for others?  Who's prayers get the priority?  Does he categorize them, like (we're supposed to for) the game, 20 Questions?

Wow!  God is awesome...he can do all things, even the impossible!

I have Seven Children....My Youngest [the only one remaining at home] He just turned 11 Years old.

I Know the Putting the Kid's to Bed Thing & The Noise.

I wonder if that's kinda like how God listens to us?.......

Yep.. He is so well aware of it all... way before we ever, even mention any of our needs to Him.

The Entire Issue is to slow down, Quiet Ourselves, Stop Breath & Take Him in .

The Children do all the Talking & Very Little Listening.

& it is Perfectly Fine those talkative kid's to have that Childlike quality different from [childishness].

The Zeal of Youth....is a quality to cling onto, but also developing a fine tuned EAR to Hear DAD also.

When Our Children Listen to Us & with Respect, & adopt our... around the block wisdom....
a Parents short cut Advise ...been there done that so...  You do not stumble there also.

Then What occurs is....the Parent... is Well Pleased & has Assurance...in Us, a sense of comfort & joy removing discomfort & worry of the child possibly getting into trouble.

Two  favorite verses are:     [He Wept]    &    [He Rejoiced] .....to opposite end Emotions.

So.........What is it ....that We do to Make the Lord  [WEEP], or [REJOICE] ??? ..

Do We Even CARE ??

Are We too Busy Talking ??
                                                                ------ YES --------

                                                      GOD has Feelings & Emotions.

Just Where do You Think You Got Feelings & Emotions From ??....We are Created in His Image & Exactly.

So Imagine for just a moment......How We Must make Him FEEL ??

Do You Think that He is More...or...Less Sensitive than Us All ??  I Say Far More.

To Weep is to Suffer the Hurt ....Where Does this Hurt come from that the Lord Suffers ?

It is the .....Lack of Listening to ....that which He would like to ......advise us.

It is Just like this....Example: You a Parent.. Warned Your Child [Teen] let's say.... to Not Drink & Drive,
or Even Get into a Car that the Driver had been Drinking......& You Tell Them 1000 times warning them.

Then to Loose a Loved one [like that] ...that did not listen....& NOW is DEAD... Killed in a Drunk Driving
Auto accident.........Now Multiply That Times 1000000000000000000000 ....this is How We ...[each of Us]
Make Him Suffer, Hurt Our Lord,....... That We say We Love so much.

When We [SIN] again The Bible Says...We Kill Him ALL OVER AGAIN, [CRUCIFY] Him all over again.

What did He FEEL getting Crucified ?

So The [sin] issue ??....Keep Sinning ??..... or How Well can one Rid SIN from Their Life ??

Can they, should they ? Impossible ?  They SIN Nature ??

Why is this Mentioned in the Word that We Crucify Him again?

This Speaks to The... [Our] Emotion .....to Imagine  [ The Agony ]....He went through for Us

Notice the Word  [ E-MOTION ] Our Responses to All Stimulus has to be put into CHECK in order
that Feelings do not Rule Us also.

Yet.....
We are .....at the other extreme NOT to Be NUMB.... to those Stimulus.
Our Motion Needs the Logic & Balance of Sensitivity...in order to help Check the Movement of the Direction
we are going in.

To Rationalize away... how when We ...[Sin]....How We Hurt the Lord is without sensitivity & is NUMB not Balanced, & also without Logic or Reasoning !

God does not worry....but He is so well pleased when we listen & move in His Directives, His
Guidance.

This is when He Rejoices .....when we Repent of Sin, Hear & Obey etc. Then He [God] succeeds in having
well behaved Children that He is Well Pleased [the well done] & Proud of carrying His NAME.

Correctly Reflecting His Name [character] His Nature....not [sin] nature.

Identify with Jesus....&....Not Adam .....any longer. That New Name that He gave Us All... [JESUS].

To do all things in His NAME?....Is to do all Things in His very Exact Nature of Be-ING.

He has Great concerns for Us to be well ....But most run away from Home [from God] to try things on
their own & fall & fail in areas, that IF We had Listened & Sought & Found God's Will, that could  have all
been avoided

Sometimes I wonder if maybe I talk to much and God is saying "Deb, will you just be quiet and listen for a change!"  :)

November 04, 2008

Whoa, good point Deb! Though many of us don't talk OR listen! lol

For me, it's so inviting to picture God as an eager listener, delighting in whatever I end up sharing with him. I've caught myself saying things like "Good prayer!" or "So and so really knows how to pray!" But when it comes to my kids, would I ever say "My 4 year old really talks to me well, she's so skilled and communicating her needs and motivating me to act on her behalf!" LOL, no way! Often God just loves to listen, I'm sure of it!

November 04, 2008

When my mind is filled with endless chatter... thoughts going in circles when I'm trying to pray...  I've heard that inner whisper, "Be still..."     and I am stilled.   Cause on a good day, I can talk till the cows come home.

I think God loves to listen to us, but He is our Father.  And you obey your Father!  hehe

When we're ready to talk, he listens. But he does encourage us to be still and listen for his gentle whisper as well. Amen Joey, thanks for pointing that out!

Mike, my eldest daughter turned 25 yesterday.  When she was small, she could not stop talking.  We would time her  (( she didn't know we did this ))  and that child could not go one minute without saying something.  Greg would threaten to tie her onto the roof of the car if we were driving.  That would just start a new conversation.  She' still talkin !!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl - Seems like I got in on the tail end of this !!!!

I am so glad that he listens and prays that he laughs and grins at me...  I can be a little offbeat sometimes  and can ramble on and on, but I know, know that he understands....  He understands when I don't understand myself.

Listen to them Mike, listen intently, you will be surprised at what you can pick up on.

Joey, LOL!  I sure hope my listening skills have encouraged my children to talk to me, about anything and everthing!! I never want em to stop talking to me! (Hmmm, once again, just like God??)

Mary, thanks, that's sweet! And I do listen!

Megan, thanks, she did! My point with the blog.....God is more interested in our desire to share our lives with him than he is in the eloquence or intelligence of our words. We are as little children to him, with little more to offer than sweet nothings. Take the time, give him what he seeks....you!

My Pastor always teaches us about prayer in the Fishing sense.
You get your net send it into the water and then pick the fish out and then throw back.
The verse that says

1 Peter 5:7
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Cast your net = Let him know
Wait to see what he gives you in your net
Pull your net back and pick  the fish out Do what he says to do
Then come back and do it again....
But just sitting there and talking at him is great.
I have a 4 year old now and we are learning to think about God more as if He is literally walking beside us.
She always acknowledges Him as her nonimaginary/imaginary to the world friend its great.
