Excellent blog Brother Steve...GOD wants us to have the VICTORY and we CAN...JESUS left the example of how to obtain it....just SPEAK the WORD OF GOD....The enemy backs up when you speak what thus saith THE LORD....Of course in order to be able to do that...it will take discipline and time and training and effort...to get the MIND OF CHRIST, which is THE WORD..But this if the VICTORY that overcometh the world...even our Faith.. ;o)

Where do these temptations come from?  My experience tells me that when I have successfully conquered a negative thought pattern or habit, I am constantly reminded of it via our "subversive" media.  TV tells us it's a perfectly normal way of establishing healthy relationships by living with the person before making a commitment.  There isn't a valid software program yet that completely eliminates pornography and other forms of filth and unsettling circumstances from the eyes of children and adults alike.  People's opinions at work seem to favor a liberal mindset that allows drunkenness, swinging, bad jokes, disrespect for others and greed.  It's a constant fight to think straight in this world of uncontrollable negative influences.  I'm not a theologian, but to me, the evil that is out there is not only Satan, who would take advantage of your weaknesses, but also people who would do the same and ourselves, too, who succumb to the temptations that would keep us impure.

Sometimes, I think I have to stay in this "sheltered" world in which I live (between church work and family), in order to keep my spiritual sanity.  It's the only place in which God resides--for me, anyway.

There's a prayer that Jesus taught where he prayed, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.My best hope of deliverance is through Jesus Christ. Paul echoed the Old Testament when he spoke to the Roman Church saying there is none that doeth good no not one. Christ in you the hope of glory, it's no longer I that liveth but Christ in me.

Someone said:  "I can resist everything except temptation."  However, for a believer, that is a lie.  We can overcome temptation and live a godly life.

Thanks for the comments and stars.

10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

We have to take the way out...Amen
