Reflections of the Heart:
In the Bible, God was directly involved in the selection of kings, priests, and judges. It was important to Him to have men and women who would lead His people in righteousness, justice, and holiness. Today, God is just as concerned about who leads the nations of this world. When you pray, seek His wisdom about the presidential candidates and then exercise your right to vote under His direction.
Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, we praise Your Name forever and ever, for You possess all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events. You remove kings and set up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and know what lays hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light. Father, we thank You for the United States of America. As citizens of this nation, we thank You for the opportunity to have a voice in the selection of our leaders. Jesus, we thank You for continuing to bless our nation. Holy Spirit, thank You for Your guidance and power. You are an awesome God. Heavenly Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done during the presidential election process. Your Word states that we are to pray for kings and all people who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives that are marked by godliness and dignity. We know that this is good and acceptable in Your sight. In obedience to Your Word, we intercede for the U.S. election process. We lift up Senator Joe Biden, Senator John McCain, Senator Barack Obama and Governor Sarah Palin before You, along with their entire campaign staff and volunteers. As the election process comes to an end, we confess that each candidate will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the paths of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful, but their delight will be in Your law and they will meditate on Your Word day and night. We confess that they are like trees planted by the rivers of water who will bring forth fruit in their season. Their leaves will not wither, and whatever they do will prosper for the good of the nation. Father, You are a God of order, therefore we command Your order to operate within each candidate’s campaign, now! We decree that no weapon formed against them will prosper and every tongue, which rises against them in judgment, will be condemned by God. Peace, be still! We decree that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused. Holy Spirit, I am here to listen and follow you. Speak to me about each candidate and show me the candidate that God wants for this country. in Jesus’ Name
