| What Web 2 Oh, Widgets and Wikis R2U |

For the most part, I still consider myself somewhat "geeky" since my oldest daughter still calls me a nerd (must be the tape holding my glasses together), anyways...
Here lately, now that I am retired from the engineering world, I see myself slipping further and further behind with technology's "In-The-Know" crowd. Actually, I am being left behind in the dust because learning new things has become a thing of the past for me due to this wretched neuromuscular disorder that I have. So I do a lot of Internet searching trying to figure out what people are talking about.
Web 2.0, Widgets and Wikis were unknown to me 6 months ago...
Sure, I've been using WikiPedia as my digital encyclopedia for some time now but I still did not understand what a "wiki" really was.
Sure, I've been using Yahoo Widgets for my computer's desktop weather station but I did not understand what a "widget" really was.
As for Web 2.0, I had no clue even when Joe blogged about it here.
One thing that I will say for MyChurch.org is this:
MyChurch.org not only is an ideal social networking website with so many features for a church community it's hard to believe they don't charge for it, MyChurch.org is also helping me, and I'm sure a lot of others too, to learn how technology can be used in the church environment. To use a phrase from the old MasterCard commercials, "the possibilities are endless."
So for those of you that don't like to spend hours upon hours of Internet research reading hundreds and hundreds of pages of gobbly-goop, here is a five minute video that gives you an intro to what you need to know about Web 2.0, widgets and wikis to look smart in front of your friends. From the BNET Staff:
"The term Web 2.0 is the buzz phrase of the internet these days, but do most people really know what it is? ZDNet Editor-in-Chief, Dan Farber, helps clarify this new collaborative tech revolution and lets us know how it can be put to use within your organization."

I hope that video helped you as much as it did me. Pictures are worth a thousand words!
Have a great weekend!
