I would take this as a compliment Joe.  They may be able to steal your idea, but they can't have us!

The original 'idea' of the Church of Jesus Christ connecting & communicating might date back more than a few centuries **wink**... with variations on the theme appearing all along the way including many efforts to use social-networking software toward this end.

But MyChurch's ability to EXECUTE the 'idea' effectively... is the reason I'm here.  Good job, Joe & the team!

Drupal's a great platform and there have long been efforts there to do social networking among the Church... and that's bound to happen too.  But who wins?  The Church.

Let me venture a guess that the next successful variation on the theme will be those social-networks which create an ability to interact easily.  RSS is already a ubiquitous component -- Now how about attaching 'friends' from other systems... like MySpace, Linked-In, etc.?

And let me keep a Neighborhood suggestion on the table.... ie, a new MyChurch capability to map (voluntarily participating) individuals down to their neighborhood level.  [See FatDoor.com, the recent neighborhood social-networking announcement.]  And after doing so, create a 'Community' Tab for geo-clustering... say IndyChristians.

The ability to know what needs to be done, innovate it into being, and executing the plan... will keep MyChurch at the fore for years to come.

One of the things I absolutely love about Cathy is that she asks questions...and I sincerely mean that. Sometimes we assume everybody knows these things.

Cathy, Drupal is a software language written by, I think, a German person that helps facilitate bulletin boards and chat rooms.  You can see a definition at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drupal, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. Joe is referring to one of those bulletin boards in his post above.  You can see it by clicking on the word "today" in his first line.

I am sure others wondered the same thing. Joe, if you have a better explanation of what the Drupal language is, please help.
