A wonderful couple we know is currently going through some serious trials. They were just married 8 months ago. But recently Niki, Jeremy's wife, has been hospitalized and diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder called Lupus. Her symptoms include severe muscle and joint pain, along with the more alarming loss of memory and mental awareness. The disease is more commonly associated with folks in their later years.. not in their mid-20s, like Niki is. Despite the seemingless hopeless outlook and straining medication Cytoxan that Niki has been prescribed (normally used for cancer patients), they both are just incredible. As people have been asking how Jeremy is doing with all of this, he responds with the utmost of encouragement: ".... Please examine your faith and examine what you believe. Life is tough, but there is a large, undeniable purpose that can't be excluded when you search for the one absolute truth.
The faith that we have now is at it's strongest point. We hope to continue to grow that more and we will always try to share that love with all of our friends and family. This is all I've been thinking about in conjunction with Niki and what's been going on. I'm with her by her side no matter what happens, for better, for worse, for eternal life because of Jesus." This powerful verses becomes especially evident in light of our trials. But irregardless of our circumstances, God will speak truth through the encouragement of the brethren. 73:25 Whom have I in heaven but you? and having you I have no desire for anything on earth. 73:26 My flesh and my heart are wasting away: but God is the Rock of my heart and my eternal heritage. Jeremy and Niki, thank you for encouraging us and pointing our purpose upward as we continue to hold you both in our prayers... |
