Every church has a pastor; someone who calls the shots, leads the congregation, and feeds the congregation spiritually. While driving to work the other day, I began to think about the relationship a pastor has with his congregation and then I thought about my relationship with God. I am a pastor of one; my congregation consists of me, myself and I. My job as pastor of myself has many similarities to the pastor of a church. It is my responsibility to be a responsible steward over what God has placed in my care; resources, money, etc. Just as a pastor educates his flock it is my responsibility to see that I daily feed myself spiritually in Bible study and prayer. I also have to be a motivational speaker to myself at times; encouraging myself to continue on when I am tired, week, and alone. It is my job to remind myself of what Christ has done for me and that this means I can live a victorious life here upon earth.
Pastors can be kind loving individuals who play major roles in our lives but when it comes to a personal relationship with God you have to be your own pastor. We see our church pastors two to three times a week, the rest of the time we still have to live a life acceptable unto the Lord. Start to preach to yourself, teach yourself, pray for yourself; become a pastor of one. Your congregation can't do it without you.
3:16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? |

That's right! Most people wonder where the victory is in there life and we're trying to be victorious with a relationship with the Church rather than our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. |

Excellent blog!
You have made some tremendous points here.
I made a decision a little over a year ago to step away from the church for a period of time. I wanted to hear from God on my own and to make certain that is was really God I was worshipping and not the church itself, or it's programs. I certainly have no problem with the church in general and I do indeed see myself serving along with a local body of believers once I get to my place called "there".
And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. But I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this past year from a relational standpoint. The Lord has taught me many things and I am grateful for His Spirit which guides my way as I preach to this congregation of one..
Again, great post. |

| point my mother-n-law got very sick for over a year .rarely left her bed .in this time she never went out side .do to this time of sickness and not being able to do anything .other than study and talk to the lord .she will tell people that she has never had closer walk with god .that one on one time she had with him alone for over a year /took her to places spiritually that she had never been before.i,m all for church .i believe we need that fellowship and to fed and taught.i also believe that we can get so bogged down by church order that we forget the reason why weare there in the first place .....so i admire you,r one on one walk with him ///you,r friend in christn theresa |
