I've noticed a ton of opinions on both sides concerning the way the election went and who voted for who and why. I don't believe as a diverse population, yes even Christians can be diverse about a great many things, thats why we have denominations, we can ever come to a consensus as to who we as individuals wanted for our new president. That given, there are a few facts. President Obama does claim to be a Christian but does support a great many of his constituents on some issues that many Christians find appalling, primarily abortion. I can't believe that all Christians feel abortions are wrong, even though as I said, many do. Many Christians wouldn't be happy with McCain considering he would have most likely prolonged the war in Iraq, a war a great many of "us" consider unnecessary, aggressive against our fellow man and taxing on our country's resources and finances. So the point that I'm trying to make is that there can never be a perfect man that will fit into our highest political office that will appeal to all Christians. There will only be the man that God chose. As we all know God has all his followers in mind in all his acts even who he allows to be chosen as President of a small country, in the northern hemisphere with a relatively small population. We should not be so bold as to condemn or belittle Obama. We should build him up, instruct him in a way that he may see the truth. Letting our beliefs known in peaceful, caring manner will go along way in showing our leaders what we believe God's will for us was when he inspired the passages in the Bible that speak to all life being precious, those killed before they were born and those killed in a foreign land, both of who have no choice. If we love God, we love our fellow man and vice-versa. Love Barrack Obama because you are called to, pray for him and let God take care of the rest. Complaining and arguing resolves nothing!
8:28 We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. |
