| I must have just went up when you posted this last night, MaryAnn. I usually go to bed around 3:00 AM. Looks like I missed you by a few minutes. Try at 2:45 next time, okay? |
Good morning Sue!!! |
Mary Ann !!! I just got going, but I was up and down all night. God kept bringing Virginia and her hubby to my heart. I was just getting ready to post almost the some thing as you. |
Hey Dennis, HUH!!! I beat you to it!!! Happy Friday mychurch bro!!!
Blessings, Mary Ann |
Another night... well EARLY morning!!! Okay, back to bed... |
| Wow. I had a great night's slep last night. Laid down about midnight and woke just in time to see the sun coming up. Sat on the porch this morning with the dog and enjoyed the breezes through the trees and the singing birds. Another beautiful day in my walk with my Lord. |
| ...oh, and Mary Ann, for me it would be a hammer on the alarm clock, not just a nice tap...I am glad I don't need one... |

I want a hammer like that. I'm looking forward to the day when I can retire and have a free schedule. Of course by then I will be like Voice and wake up before the sun comes up each day and not be able to sleep in anymore.
It's nap time. |

| I want a hammer too. I'm so use to getting up in the middle of the night to go to work that on my one night off i'm up every hour. Sleep i need sleep but can't seem to get any.........Good thing you require less when you get older........................................... |
Sue, that one is perfect!!
I got so tired after reading this, I went and took a three hour nap. Yeah, Rlloyd, it is a real bummer when you want to sleep in and you can't. Now, if I stay up really, really late, I just wake up at the same time really, really cranky. |

| Okay it's 8PM ET. I am going to bed NOW!!! I'll probably wake up aound 3 or 4AM. Hey, I met Pastor DATM (aka Dave) today and his wife Teresa. They came to C3 for church this morning and then we had lunch at Mike's & Laura's. That's why I'm so wiped out. It was a great time. I feel so blessed to belong to this awesome site. Thank you for the brothers and sisters of mychurch Lord!!! |

You had lunch AT Mike & Laura's????? This just throws the whole "Who's coming to dinner" thing into an uproar! Oh boy! Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. *Tap on the shoulder* You couldn't have gone anyways. You were busy this afternoon. And then there's the point that YOU'RE IN MINNESOTA AND NOT MARYLAND! Erm... Ooops. |
| Took a 90 minute nap in the chaise on the porch today. Beautiful day. Movie time with the family now...not sure what Sword got for us to see...then, hopefully, a full night's sleep. |
<slept for 5 hours, 1AM now, up to finish laundry, dishes, etc.>
Norm, have your vitals stabalized yet? Sorry to drop that lunch bomb on you like that. I should have anticipated the potential shock factor.
DC, sounds like an awesome afternoon. You'll have to let us know what movie the lovely Sword picked out.

Woke up at 4:00 from a sound sleep...dreaming about watching cars going out of control on the interstate - nobody hurt and I wasn't sure if it was NASCAR or Route 95 or what...oh, well, someone will tell me that such a dream reflects the thought that my life is out of control and they will be right, but wrong as well...life is wonderful...life on the edge is great...
...sunrise over the Potomac this morning was spectacular...low lying haze is still there but it caused some wild colors in the sunrise. Another wonderful day to serve the Lord.
Movie was Hero...about a kid who finds a talking baseball. DVD was messed up, though, so we only got half way through it...oh well...I went to bed and enjoyed reading for a while... |

| DC, how's the A/C situation? Dude, we missed you at Mike & Laura's... |

GASSSSSSP!!!! More people were invited! Oh boy, Oh boy!! Must find oxygen, Must find oxy*WHACK* See note above. You couldn't have made it anyways! OW!!! DC: There are way too many movies named Hero (or my memory is foggy). I know which one you are talking about, but my first thought was of a John Ritter movie of years gone by (that turned out to be Hero At Large), and then it seems like there was one with Dustin Hoffman where his plane crashed. |

"Norm"al Mike, hmmm? I read somewhere that you "can be a bit antagonistic at times". LOL!!!

She's not keeping me up so I can post in this entry more. :) So I think that's good. I think she's going to be a goofy* kid. She seems to be developing a sense of humor already, and she's also discovered she can turn off the volume control on her voice. * - goofy = good. |

Two mornings in a row awake at 5:00? (It took me a bit to get here). This is terrible. |
Mary Ann, I have given up on any consistent sleep cycle at this point in my life. I was up last night until 2 in the morning. I know for you 20 somethings that is like "too early" to go to bed on Friday, but for us MWC the day starts at sunrise (like it use to on the farm). I have to admit, I love sitting on the porch with my cup of coffee as the sun is coming up. This morning it was pouring rain and then stopped just before sunrise. So everything was clean, the day was fresh, and the birds were all out singing. It is moments like those that make life precious.
Oh, and naps. Yes, lots of naps. Hating taking them when I was a kid, but love taking them now. |

Should blogs die? I mean I could create a new one, since 75% (warning: made-up statistic) of the time the person resurrecting this one in the past 2 months has been me. :) Plus I hadn't seen Mary Ann around lately, but I haven't had time to do the Explore/Posts thing in the past couple weeks so maybe I'm just missing her. |
| Hmmm? I haven't had any trouble sleeping lately. Actually, that's my trouble. I've been sleeping too much! It's only 10:15PM and I'm about to hit the sack. My bro Michael just left. We had an awesome time of prayer. He's preparing for a trip to India. Michael's my baby brother :-) |

I made it past 10:15. :p Not really a surprise. I should go read though. Being in the middle of 6 books isn't the way I like to read, so I really should try to finish one of those off. |

Let's see, right now I'm in the middle of A book on Job (upstairs in the living room and can't remember the title at the moment) Foundations of SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Why Do Buses Come In Threes? In His Image (Book one of the Christ Clone Trilogy) Les Miserables Alright... it's time to get to bed... I can't remember the others. :) There's at least one from the church library, I seem to have read 15 pages in the past week. It sucks. |
Foundations of SQL Server -- ouch. That's probably what you read when you aren't tired and you need to go to sleep.
Buses come in threes? Is that a Byron, MN thing?
Ah, Les Miserables. Good book. Well, rent the movie, then you can say you finished the book!
15 pages is more than I read the past week. Congrats! |

Actually I just picked up the Foundations one tonight. So other than reading the first few pages, I haven't gotten that deep into it. But I'm guessing I will need to in the next week. :) Why do Buses come in Threes is actually an English (meaning England, not the subject) book about uses of math. There are a number of interesting things in there. Les Miserables is actually the book I'm having the most difficulty with. I've watched the movie, listened to the Musical, but the places in the book where they do the Bishop of D------- drive me nuts. I seriously find myself spending 5 minutes on a page trying to figure out the significance and then realizing I don't care and move along until I hit it again, and then considering throwing the book away (good thing it's the Library's) before going through the whole range of emotions again. The thing is that's not something you can easily Google on. :) |

Mary Ann, I should be sleeping and I'm not at the moment. What to do? I think I should go to bed, otherwise being I'm tired and cranky, I may decide to respond to every response somewhere. I might be too late. I wonder if I've starred this yet. Guess we'll find out. |

I took Friday off as a vacation day. It was supposed to be a day to relax. Instead I did lots of work around the house. Saturday ended up being much the same. As did today. And now tomorrow, it's time to go back to work. And I missed my opportunity to relax, so I'm fighting off the going to bed bit. It's a good thing your laptop isn't working or you'd be knocking me on the noggin with your whomp-it. I think it is time to head to bed though. |

Really? Actually I would think I would turn out pretty average. :) To show you how little I've been exploring lately, I've only seen it in one spot but was guessing it was others. And DC if you can't sleep, (if you're like me) the car would cure it for you, which would be a bad thing. |
| Norm, I am just like you with the car thing...just not worth it...my commute is about 90 minutes. No way to make it without eating and drinking all the way...then only to wake up at 4:30 and do it all over again. At least here I can sleep until 7 or so... |
Voice, sounds like a little action from a previous career.
Norm....do it. |
| Mike, I am in a small group now that meets once a month and we rotate guests through the cycle....mostly political appointees...the food is always good and the company varies. Tonight it was interesting because of my past... |

haha, I starred it. Thought I already had months ago.
Voice, I bet your new career in Christian bookselling is tremendously rewarding, relaxing, satisfying compared to where you used to be. I wouldn't mind getting fired, it would probably push me into missions or something. :-) |

If this thread ever goes away, I'm creating one called "The water cooler". Maybe I should anyways. We're spamming Mary Ann while she's getting her beauty rest. :) Actually the whole office/bookselling/working late thing confuses me. Through in the comment about getting fired and I realize I have no idea what we are talking about. Which means everything is going pretty much as it normally does. |

Mike, I still consult for the Government at the Cabinet level. The bookstore is a ministry. If I ever lost this job, I wouldn't be able to keep the bookstore afloat. Nice thought, though.
We have owned the store since 1992. It has grown, met the needs of a lot of people, churches, and other organizations - we supply several missionaries around the world. We have done lots of things like help Big Idea get started and have met a lot of other people with a similar desire to serve. It is a good ministry, but as with any, it is very hard work. Fortunately both my wife and I love to read. As a side note, my wife is a scientist who was doing some really neat stuff for DARPA and other three-letter agencies when I found her. I know sometimes she is sure that physics is a lot more fun than working in the store. |
