DC: There are way too many movies named Hero (or my memory is foggy).  I know which one you are talking about, but my first thought was of a John Ritter movie of years gone by (that turned out to be Hero At Large), and then it seems like there was one with Dustin Hoffman where his plane crashed.

She's not keeping me up so I can post in this entry more. :)  So I think that's good.  I think she's going to be a goofy* kid.  She seems to be developing a sense of humor already, and she's also discovered she can turn off the volume control on her voice.

Two mornings in a row awake at 5:00?  (It took me a bit to get here).

This is terrible. 

My body is trying to convince my brain to go to bed.  So far my brain is winning.  I'm really not sure what it's racing about, but it's hard to tell it to knock it off.

You poor insomniacs!!! I hope you are able to put your sleeplessnes to good use.

Does this mean you're not feeling well?  Or that you're sleeping well?

I hope it's the latter.  Although with your b-day coming up (or here) you better not be sleeping through it.

Plus I hadn't seen Mary Ann around lately, but I haven't had time to do the Explore/Posts thing in the past couple weeks so maybe I'm just missing her.

It's not even 10:15 here and I'm thinking about hitting the sack.  Which doesn't mean I haven't had trouble sleeping.  Just that the other side (morning) has been troublesome.  :)

I made it past 10:15.  :p   Not really a surprise.  I should go read though.   Being in the middle of 6 books isn't the way I like to read, so I really should try to finish one of those off.

Alright... it's time to get to bed... I can't remember the others. :)  There's at least one from the church library,

I seem to have read 15 pages in the past week.  It sucks. 

Actually I just picked up the Foundations one tonight.  So other than reading the first few pages, I haven't gotten that deep into it.  But I'm guessing I will need to in the next week. :)

Why do Buses come in Threes is actually an English (meaning England, not the subject) book about uses of math.  There are a number of interesting things in there. 

 Les Miserables is actually the book I'm having the most difficulty with.  I've watched the movie, listened to the Musical, but the places in the book where they do the Bishop of D------- drive me nuts.  I seriously find myself spending 5 minutes on a page trying to figure out the significance and then realizing I don't care and move along until I hit it again, and then considering throwing the book away (good thing it's the Library's) before going through the whole range of emotions again.

The thing is that's not something you can easily Google on. :) 

It just occurred to me that the really big reason I can't sleep is the obvious.  I'm awake and moving around. :)

I think this increases the made up percentage for how many times I "revived" this thread. :)

That would have been the other one I was commenting on where I said it seemed I was going to respond to every response. 

I took Friday off as a vacation day.  It was supposed to be a day to relax.  Instead I did lots of work around the house.  Saturday ended up being much the same.  As did today.

And now tomorrow, it's time to go back to work.  And I missed my opportunity to relax, so I'm fighting off the going to bed bit.

It's a good thing your laptop isn't working or you'd be knocking me on the noggin with your whomp-it.

I think it is time to head to bed though.

Voice, I bet your new career in Christian bookselling is tremendously rewarding, relaxing, satisfying compared to where you used to be. I wouldn't mind getting fired, it would probably push me into missions or something. :-)

Actually the whole office/bookselling/working late thing confuses me.  Through in the comment about getting fired and I realize I have no idea what we are talking about.

Which means everything is going pretty much as it normally does.

Mike, I still consult for the Government at the Cabinet level. The bookstore is a ministry. If I ever lost this job, I wouldn't be able to keep the bookstore afloat. Nice thought, though.

We have owned the store since 1992. It has grown, met the needs of a lot of people, churches, and other organizations - we supply several missionaries around the world. We have done lots of things like help Big Idea get started and have met a lot of other people with a similar desire to serve.  It is a good ministry, but as with any, it is very hard work. Fortunately both my wife and I love to read. As a side note, my wife is a scientist who was doing some really neat stuff for DARPA and other three-letter agencies when I found her. I know sometimes she is sure that physics is a lot more fun than working in the store.
