You make good points Steve.By the way, while men are "created"equal, after that it is what they do that defines them!!!We are not equal in our being.A man who works hard is not equal with a man who does not work,forexample...I enjoy you blog entries keep em' coming...

Every now and then I watch reality TV, it kinda clues me in on what is the latest in the world.  WOW is all I can say...your right...all lifestyles are not equal...We each have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling...man could I write a blog on that but to think that we can just blatenly sin and there won't be ramifications...well, all I can say is God is good at taking us around the bin over and over to show us His point, he will not be mocked....

You are right all lifestles are not equal, the promise of GOD are for his children who walk and sleep JESUS.
The world will never be equal if they keep denying GOD.

Dan:  The myth is not Christian, but anti-Christian.  Our culture is attempting to brain wash us to believe that lifestyle choices are equal.  Even in public schools, certain sinful choices are being presented as alternative types of family.  This is deception at work.

Dan:  Good questions.  Jesus and the apostles preached "repent" which means "change your mind and go in another direction" and "believe."  The two go together.

Of course someone can live a morally upstanding life without Christ and not be saved.  However, Jesus still called nonbelievers to repent and believe.  I am trying to follow His example.

I believe that we modern Christians have over preached believe and almost left out repent.  Therefore, in our time, millions claim to be believers who daily practice and justify sin.  We need a balance in our time.  We must preach repent as well as believe.

Steve, I have to agree with you, my brother. This post hit close to my old life.  God saved me from myself.  Man is selfish by nature.  This is why Jesus has to tell us to focus on others and their needs, and not our own.  Even when doing something "good", doesn't mean it is godly, especially if it is around our wants and desires.
Along this line, I heard a very interesting and scary figure.  I was listening to Focus on the Family, I believe.  They said that 72% of Christians, when really asked, said that they weren't sure that Christianity and Christ was the only was to Heaven.  Many believe that just being a good person would get you their.  This gave me an insight into why the Church was so divided in the election, and how some could vote one way and others the other way, no matter what God's real values are and what the Bible says.  This is also why we are told that wide and spacious is the road going off into everlasting distruction, but narrow and crowed is the gate to everlasting life with our Father.  Maybe it is time for some self evaluation and see what we believe and find out what God's Word really says.  All Glory and Honor to our Father and King.  God Bless.

Earl:  Christianity is about transformation.  Christ does it in us, but we have to seek Him and obey Him.  He doesn't take us over and control us.  Self evaluation is a necessity if we are to grow into mature Christians and be the light God wants us to be in this world.  Create in me a new heart O God and renew a right spirit within me!

Steve,

I loved your comment about 'repentance' because if we do not turn and stop living the way we lived before salvation, then how can someone who does not believe tell us apart? For someone that lives morally before salvation, how do you think we could tell a difference? Some people say that well, I live a good life so I'm okay...but we know that self sufficiency is a one way ticket to "LOST!" It is hard for some to understand that one lie means, according to The Word, that we have broken them all.

Christianity is about 'transformation' and it is often painful to be in the process of being transformed. I can sure attest to that!

Loved ALL of these comments!

Amen, Forgiven.  It is painful to be in the process of transformation.  That is why Jesus said we must deny ourself and Paul said we die to ourself.

No one can be free unless they can be free to disobey.

God gives us true freedom without spiritual eternal separation.

This is not to say that there is not a law of causality. For with every act there is a comming  reaction of it.

Judge no one for exploring their freedom to choose in their little projected world of illusion. All human carnality  will die in this temporary world.

Very thought provoking post, Steve.  The world view may say 'all lifestyles are created equal', but God says He has a better way.
