Ken collects Santa Clauses and I collect Snowmen. Every year at Christmas we always buy one for each other. He really loves the Old World Santas.

Well, it's not long until Christmas, and Ken hasn't worked since the last week of July, meaning a tradition for us would have to be broken this year.

Yesterday, a friend of our's who owns a Quick Stop hosted an event with BACA (Biker's Against Child Abuse). They kept reminding us to come. Well, yesterday Ken nor I felt good, but we decided to suck it up and get our granddaughter and take her.

It was cold and windy, causing my ears to hurt. There wasn't a big turnout, the first time it's been done here in our town. But, my granddaughter loved it. There were pony rides!!!! We had about $13 on us. Hey, it was for a cause very close to my heart.....needy and abused children. So, she rode the ponies twice.....hehehehe.

Then BACA had huge bags of stuffed animals that they were giving away. Each child got to pick out the one they wanted. Granddaughter grabbed a little bear, but the biker said "Wait, I think I have just the perfect one for you!" He dug deep into the bag and pulled out a hugggggeeeee purple teddy bear. Her eyes got sooooo big!

We got her fingerprinted and the officer doing it said he was honored to do her prints when he found out she is taking karate as self defense. That got a big snaggle-toothed smile from her.

Then we talked awhile with our friends....

There were boxes there with tickets and Ken asked what they were for. They were drawings and the money made from them would buy some Christmas for kids who wouldn't have Christmas. And stores had donated prizes for the drawings. Ken put what we had left in money in, while I stood and hugged on my granddaughter.

Last night, we got a phone call. We had won five prizes. We won a pizza coupon for $10, a doormat, a t-shirt, a Hallmark Village cabin and get this!!!!!!! We won a Thomas Kincade Old World Santa, complete with certificate!!!!!!!!

Ok, God, you really did it this time. I usually buy Ken's at Walmart or a little gift shop here in town. I'm still laughing today......I could never buy Ken anything like this!!!!!!! Goes to show ya, that you can't one up God, hehehehe. I know God is laughing because we had no clue what the gifts for the drawing were......we just gave.
