| THE LORD'S PEOPLE |

32:9 For the LORD'S portion [is] his people; Jacob [is] the lot of his inheritance.
For the Lord's portion is his people. God's people are not only His by choice, but also by purpose. He has bought and paid for them, so there can be no disputing His claim. He bought them not with perishable things like silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus. 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: The price has been paid in open court and the church belongs to the Lord forever. He doesn't forget anyone He has redeemed. He counts all the sheep for whom He lays down His life. We are the conquered captives of His omnipotent love. We have been chosen, bought and won, and the Lord's rights to us are incontestable. So let us live each day to do His will and to show forth His glory. Charles Spurgeon Morning by Morning |

Funny. The Lord's portion is his ppl, our portion is the Lord. Ours is the Lord by necessity!! His is us by choice!!!
