Looking for a School Bus

We are in the market for a used school bus, if anyone knows of a bus for sale or a good dealer not too far from metro DC, please leave a comment or contact me. We are looking for a relatively new bus (max 5 years old) that seats 60+ and can handle long distance (3 hour) highway trips.

Andrew,

Rather than the lowered versions, I personally find the raised versions much more practical and versatile. Of course, I have driven a 4-Wheel Drive vehicle of some form since 1976.

Rent a van for your trips.
The insurance on a school bus ( old and used ) is sky high.

Thanks for the advice, the problem is that we do a lot of trips...we'll definitely have to do a cost/benefit analysis once we get all the numbers.

We found that renting a van for about $90 worked out better.
The liability insurance and the vehicle insurance was a killer.
Talk to your insurance company first before you buy.
