I have always known that English was a hard language to learn due to the use of multiple meanings and pronounciations for the same spelling of a word. Since this is from my own first-hand perspective, I really "feel" for you all that learned English as a Second Lanuage (ESL).
As for the blog title, The Gravity of Weighty Matters, the "weighty matters" part is me; all 215 pounds of it. The "gravity" part is what I hate, especially when it works against me; as was the case the other night when I proved once again that the Earth exhibits that "pulling force" to keep objects "glued" to the its surface.
Remember my blog a while back: Dave could really use your prayers about now
I'll be seeing my doctor later today to discuss why I seem to be having more "challenges" in my health recently. Muscle weakness and pain is prevalent and persistent. There might be the beginning of a pressure sore on my bottom. Not sure. All I know is it hurts!
And from where I went crashing to the floor the other day, I've got a nine-inch "S" shaped cut on my belly with a few bruised somethings inside of me. I've always said "I'm glad I'm made of rubber." I gently bend just like Gumby. LOL
Yup, I hate it when gravity works against me!
Bottom line?
Please keep me in your prayers.
Thanks!
Dave

Cathy, What I really need to do is use that Whomp It hammer more often! LOL
As for multitasking, you should see my multitasking skills from Point A to Point B heading to the floor. There is a lot going on in my brain, my arms are trying to make me fly and the mushroom cloud that forms when I hit the floor answers the question about needing to check under the couch.
Dave
P.S. I love my wife. She is busy taking two college classes this semester, working full time and still taking care of me full time, and one of our young adults from our church cleans our home once every two weeks (all we can afford). Perhaps I should mention that the mushroom cloud was an exaggeration of dust from the floor and is mainly just due to smoke coming from my ears from all of the brain mutlitasking and the sheer frustration I have from not being able to get off the floor once down there! LOL |

Well folks, back home from the doctor's office. He said I should live for at least another 30 days (when I see him again). Of course, my response, I'm gonna live for eternity thanks be to Jesus!
< insert BIG smile >
I've got the beginnings of a pressure sore if I don't take action now so my general practitioner (GP) suggested sitting on a "donut" for a while. Those are the inflatable devices that look like a huge donut (but not as tastey) and are available at the corner drugstore.
Doing a little Internet research on the pressure sore issue, a well-known forum to ask such questions is Care Cure and the experts, SCI-Nurse, strongly advised against the donut therapy route in this thread. Doing a Google search using the terms "pressure sore" and "donut" yields lots of hits that basically state a donut is NOT an acceptable therapy since it further reduces blood flow which is causing the problem in the first place. Best solution? Stay in bed for a week or so laying on my stomach. Yuk! No computer! I'll die... Must seek alternatives... LOL
For the nerve pain due to the degenerative nature of MELAS, I'll get a second defense drug to back up the first one I'm currently taking. Double whammies get double salvo responses! Prayer added to that; the enemy doesn't stand a chance!
I've got some other things to do in the next 30 days; one of which is an eval for a home care nurse. Now if they are good chefs and come between the hours of 11 AM and 1 PM, I will be super happy. Good food keeps the doctors away. That is correct, right?
Thanks for y'alls prayers! God bless you! Dave |
