28:19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: In response to a blog entry by"Mike and Laura"called"Some Leave".It came to me,what are we here for.Are we who have been here(at your church) since God created dirt to sit in judgement of those who would dare to come through the doors of our sanctuary???Are we to decide not enough hymns are being used during worship,but instead those young people are using contemporary worship songs???Are we just there to warm the pew(my pew thank you,I've been here since this church started) or out of duty or obligation to tradition???Well as the scripture"commands"not suggests,we are to become disciples and then make disciples.You know the adage"Know Jesus and Make Him known".Is that what you are doing at church???In marketing one who counsels an opening business will ask"what is the first thing people are going to see"when trying promote their service.Well,what is the first thing people see when they come to your church???Do they see loving,caring,outreaching people OR do they see those judgemental stares,glances???Do they feel welcome???Do they feel SINCERITY or PHONINESS.JESUS is our example: 5:1 Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;
5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
5:1 Let it then be your desire to be like God, as well-loved children;
5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. Is THIS what we are doing???Let me make clear,some people were looking for ANY reason to leave and it wasn't anyone at the churches fault.However, I submit that if we would have paid attention and gently asked what was the problem,we may have been able to minister to "Some Leave"........By the way,reading the 5th chapter of Ephesians would be helpful to all of us.As far as that goes applying God's Word instead of just reading it would go along way also.....Please reference Mike and Laura's entry http://www.mychurch.org/blog/331847/Some-leave-because |

13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. Note:HAVE NOT LOVE. |

What are we here for......it's a question I ask myself often!
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (Jam1:22) |

 Great blog Jimmie
What am I here for? My response is on my site titled "My Church Friends". I also responded to Mike/Laura's blog titled "some leave". I just came off the site of a new friend I made today on My Church, and I believe some of the stuff on her site really spoke to me regarding "missions". Yesterday, I made another friend because I took the time to respond to Mike's blog. Same thing. both sites were very informative, yet inspiring and encouraging. If people would look around, spread their wings and venture to sneak a peak in other sites, they may find the Holy Spirit's leading to take them higher up the straight and narrow path. I am past looking at what others do not do, because their is sooo much that God's children is doing, where I feel led to join up I will as a disciple, I find that I must not remain in the same spot for too long as my commissioner Jesus desires for me to go into all the world, so I am not and never will be a "pew warmer or member" of any "organization//denomination". Well, I have said enough for now, I find a "peak" coming on LOL!
Shalom to you my friend |

What are we here for is the question! The answer from the majority of seat warmers should be or would be if they could be completely honest is (1) To be seen,in my mind my neighbors think more of me if I am a God fearing,church dwelling citizen.(2) To be a member of a social club,I am a social animal and I need to belong and be accepted by others.(3) Networking,for business or other reasons,I need the contacts.(4) I have my doubts about the existance of God,but just in case I will ask for forgiveness regularly and show up on Sunday morning to cover my backside,I only hope if God does in fact exist that he is unable to see the real me. If you dont believe me,just watch me when I think nobody is watching. |

The"substance"of character is what we are when only God is watching or seeing us!!! "Pillar of truth",I am glad you are here and appreciate your honesty.It also seems you are objective in your reasoning and discussion.It is hard to see"Jesus"if there is no example of Him.Might I add that once you have had an experience with Jesus you'll change your view.Please note"diligently seek": 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
