| God's will be done |

6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. How often have you ignored God's will without even knowing you have? Have you ever said, if its God's will. then I'll do it, but only if its His will. Reminds me of the story of a man who said "I'll go to the donut shop but only stop if there is a parking space in front, it must be His will. Sure enough he got a parking space in front and stopped. God's will? Just because he circled the parking lot eight times and a space opened up, God's will? All to often we wait and manipulate "God's will" Even Jesus thought about it, but reminded himself, and us, that it must be God's will. (see Matthew 26:39,42) I wish I could say I've always done His will, but Romans reminds us there is not one perfect among us. I have all to often found myself being manipulated by others by claiming it was "God's will" and I stopped it there. Peter thought he was protecting Jesus when Jesus said: 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Peter was doing Satan's will, not God's will. Try to do God's will, and when you push or manipulate, a little, ask Jesus for forgiveness, He has plenty to go around. |
