Father's day means a lot of different things to each of us. It depends on your stage of life or even the path your life has taken. Maybe your a new father holding your new little in your arms in amazement. For kids they want to make dad a card and take part in that special time with dad, maybe even eat cake (for kids every holiday is a good reason to eat cake). For Dad's of young children they get the spoils of love and affection for the day. For those with older kids, it might be waiting for that special call to say "hello, I love You" or receiving that card in the mail you've been waiting for. You may even get to spend some quality time with your kids reminiscing of when they were young. Maybe, your Father has already went to be with the Lord. Your special time might be in remembering who your father was, the impact he made on your life and how you miss him. You could be a father who's lost a child trying to make sense of the holiday and just trying to servive. You may have never even known your father and wonder how things might have been different if you did. Father's day has a different story for each of us. One thing we can agree on, would be to Celebrate the Father we have in Christ. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is alway there for us when we call. As we celelbrate our Father's in our own ways this Sunday, remember to include your Heavenly Father in the Celebration. With Love, Donetta P.S. I love you Dad |
