"For I know the plans I have for you..." says the Lord "who is able to give above what you could ask, hope, or dream for" who "supplies all your needs according to His riches..." It is ironic that we as Christians always are suprised when God intervenes on our behalf. One of the lessons my life has taught me concerning my walk with the Lord is that He intimately cares about what is best for us nad is concerned about the little details in our lives.
I learned a hard lesson about His love last week...I was attempting to shut my son's bedroom door when in my frustration of failure to complete the task I noticed a teddy bear arm was in the door way stopping the process. I quickly slid the teddy bear into the room and continued shutting the door with satisfaction when again I seemed ot fail in getting the job done. I applied more pressure to complete this simple task when I was rudely interupted my the scream of my son. It turns out that he balanced himself by placing his fingers in the door jam by the hinge and I never noticed. I of course grabbed up my son and did what every loving father would do...but the moral...I initially had gave the door a good shut when the teddy bear got in the way...my son's hand would have been severed...since I was already in motion, the pressure that I applied in response was much less because I noticed there was an obstruction and I wanted to keep from destroying anything.
God has a way of keeping doors shut in our lives that we would prefer open because He knows where we really want to go...even if we don't yet...I really appreciate that. So whatever it is you are doing, trust in Him and if failure seems unavoidable...still trust. You would hate to succeed in soomething only to have catastrophe (losing your son's hand) around the corner. God cares for us. |
