| Be Careful what You ask for part II |

Today I had to stop and say again,"Thank You Lord for Snickers." I have been wondering where Snickers came from, why would anyone abandon such a beautiful dog, and why did we find her"?
A few months ago I was hospitalized with a colon problem and bleeding. It still bothers me at times, and I never know when an attack might hit me!
My husband was working on his computer in one of the rooms at the back of the house. The door was closed to his room, and the door partially closed to the living room where I was sitting. Suddenly I got terrible stomach pains and went into the bathroom. I was doubled over in pain, won't go into details, but we have all been there, next thing I know I was on the floor. I hollered and hollered for Jim, but he couldn't hear me, but Snickers did. She came running, saw me on the floor, came over, kissed me and I said,"Snickers, go get daddy." She turned and left, I kept calling, no Jim and no Snickers. After what seemed like ages, the cold sweats stopped, I was able to get up. When I got to the back of the house, there was Snickers running up and down in the hall. I opened the door to the computer room, the dog ran in and jumped on my husband. When I told him what happened, he said he would have to pay more attention to Snickers. We were both in awe as to her reaction to what had happened.
After the first week Snickers was with us I thought that she must have belonged to an older couple. She wants to be close to me all the time, curls up in the small of my back, or the bend of my legs, like it is her duty to "Keep her eye" on me.
The Lord picked us out to be Snickers new family, and for that I am very thankful. He knows our needs even before we do, and we must praise and thank Him for the littlest things in life, even a little dachshund.
So again I say, "Be Careful what you ask for, you may just get it!" |

Awesome blog!, my pup is a dachshund, got him when he was a pup, 14 years ago... he was so little, he fit in the palm of my hand, he is so loyal, and sleeps just like you said..lol does he set on his but and work his front legs up and down, by setting straight up and down? I am happy that you found such a sweet pup.
Nancy I will keep you in my prayers, about your illness. God bless you. |

Yes Marilyn she does, and couldn't have found a sweeter dog if I had chosen her myself.
CindyLou, can't wait to see your pictures, thanks for all your help and answering my questions. Snickers would probably love a companion, she is so funny. The other day, I let her out and there was a big police dog in our yard, can you believe she chased that big dog right out of our yard. She never left the yard, I am so grateful to have her. |
