| How We Look |
|
| |
A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.

'That laundry is not very clean', she said. 'She doesn't know how to wash correctly.
Perhaps she needs better laundry soap'
Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments. About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:
'Look, she has learned how to wash correctly.
I wonder who taught her this?'
The husband said, 'I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.'
And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look.

6:22 The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. Matthew 6:22 NAS

judgment is flawed when we do it. example:
When I was in my 20's I had small kids and no money. My bible was so well used and the cover came off. I used some lavender flowered contact paper to make a cover, only thing I had.
I went to a bible book store and found a criswell study bible for 50 bucks, well out of my price range. I prayed for it. I wanted it badly as mine was without study helps and sorty corny looking.
I saved a few dollars, got birthday money and kept going back like a little girl saving for a dolly. It went to the sale table. Only one of them. Half off. The lady behind the counter, obviously watching me drool, suggested lay away. I didn't know that possible. I put some down and at 25 felt like it was possible. In no time I had it and on my first morning in church with my new bible, we had a visiting preacher. A good man, no doubt. He looked out over the congregation and said something like this: " I can tell you all are faithful by your well worn bibles!"
No he couldn't. I had worn one out but for all he knew, I never picked it up except to carry to church. My point being we don't know! |

Juanita: If you saw my study bible......well, let's just say it's well worn with even dog chew prints on it (left it on the couch one day after reading).....Ken bought me my first leather bound bible after that, but ya know what......it doesn't have all my notes in it......so I keep going back to my dog chewed, notes written in Bible :) |

Very true CindyLou! we are build up and edify the church, and if we are judging others, we can't do that... it is important for us to help and love our Christian brother and sisters in Christ, and not gossip and judge one another, we live in the world but not of the world. good Post CindyLou, God bless you. |

It was an appropriate comment.....did you expect me to preach a sermon on it?
But first remove the log our of your own eye and then remove the speck from your neigbor's eye. |

| I think my windows need cleaning... Although God has cleaned-up my "dirty washing", I still look at them from time-to-time. Get my meaning? |
