The past four months have been quite the learning experience for me. For those of you who do not know I lost my dear friend, Bob Campbell during the night of November 11, 2008. Watching him slowing suffer with cancer and then loose his life peacefully while he slept will be forever inbedded in my mind. This visual is my constant painful reminder of the value of life. Bob received the gift of salvation and left me with a legacy, or a gift, if you will--that gift is caring for myself. Loving me the way Jesus loves me. Today and everyday I will Thank God for allowing me to care for and love the not so easy to love, for Bob was not a social person, he was in fact rather consumed with himself. God's grace saw me through. My corps saw me through. The folks I work with saw me through. All I can do now is pass on the love I feel for God and His world. What a wonderful place we live in! When we fall away God has a way of making it so we wash ourselves in His Word~my daily goal! I encourage everyone to look at life as a gift, a cherished gift we must care for until we do in fact die. But until then, live!
1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rank growth of wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. |
