3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou? 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. GOD 1st!!
In the garden, GOD created Adam and Eve so HE could commune with them (Websters)Commune: To talk together intimately.
".....They heard "The voice of GOD" GODs ommni present being, the two were living in HIS rest, walking in what was to be the "Holy of Holies" continually, the ultimate state of communion.
But sin separated Adam and Eve from Yahweh, and the intimacy of their relationship GOD provided in the garden. The curses that fell on mankind that day were not limited to the ground being cursed or being subjected to sorrow and suffering, the greatest curse was the wall of separation that occured between GOD and man. - The communion, intimate conversation with GOD no longer exists - Even with the Holy Ghost, our communion now happens dependent upon our commitment and consecration to GOD.
How do I regain the intimate relationship and commune with GOD. It does not happen automatically through salvation or receiving the Holy Ghost. It must be cultivated.
A. Duty: At first prayer is a duty (Websters) ...the obedience or respect that one should showbased on a feeling of obligation - I have to pray; obedience to the word. Much more talking and little Listening. Question (retorhical) How do I know HE is talking to me - This form of prayer is prevalent when first coming into salvation B. Dicipline; Defined as: Training that develops self-control and character; acceptance of or submissiom to authority - I want to Pray! I am willing to learn and dicipline myself, a more mature level of obedience. - When I dicipline myself in an area, it becomes easier a habit (like exercise) and it has benefits. - Prayer as a diciplines benefits -Begin to hear GODs voice and know it. -A greater awearness of HIS presence in me through peace and love. - Creates a desier for companionship-communion with HIM, and more prayer C.Devotion; the qualiyt or state of being devoted - Dedicated; consecrated; very loving , and faithful no longer a duty. Surpassed dicipline prayer is a constant desire - I love to Pray, to commune with HIM know HIM and hear HIS voice,
HE is increasing in me, I am decreasing, intimate and spontaneous with GOD....Much of the talking is by GOD at times. A greater understanding of HIS spirit.
1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and `the' Saviour Jesus Christ: 1:2 Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 1:3 seeing that his divine power hath granted unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that called us by his own glory and virtue; 1:4 whereby he hath granted unto us his precious and exceeding great promises; that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in that world by lust. 1:5 Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in `your' virtue knowledge; 1:6 and in `your' knowledge self-control; and in `your' self-control patience; and in `your' patience godliness; 1:7 and in `your' godliness brotherly kindness; and in `your' brotherly kindness love. 1:8 For if these things are yours and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:9 For he that lacketh these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins.
HIS devine nature (Holy Spirit) is now in control in our lives!!
