| Cedar Point Report |
|
| |
Yes, its true, the coaster freak/new mom got to go to Cedar Point! And not only was she a guest instead of an employee but she was a VIP! (Ask Sean about this, he called me a lady too, whatz up with that :) ) Any way, back to my report. We had a great ride down along with Beacon Baptist church. We had a total of 120 of us! Pretty cool! Any way, we had a group of four from Davison's Cafe Life Group and then Sean, Cristin, Steve, Amanda and I in a group. We split up and we let loose for an amazing day of riding.....
The hardest decision to make when you first arrived at CP is what to ride first. We choose Power Tower shooting up, I'm sorry, I hate going down EEECK! We then almost started running toward Dragster but.......Cristin needed some time to think about it. So we went to Maggie/Magnum. When it opened we almost walked on and it was just as good as it always was. (Actually, I never road it in its younger years and I have heard that it is more rough that it had been)
We then headed our way back to the new coaster, Maverick. It has a 95 degree first drop of just over 100feet. It is full of twists and turns and had two places where it speeds up like Dragster does. We road it later in the day since it seemed to have a long line and it wasn't moving! We road Mean Streak and got a good beating from it. Its still a cool ride though! We then made our way toward Millie, short for Millenium Force! It is my favorite ride and is worth the wait, our wait happened to be 3 hours! Let me explain. We got in line for a 45 min wait and it turned out that a down pour was coming. Well, we were tough and hung in there, despite Steve's pessimist view points, and it cleared up and the ride started running again in no time. Little did we realize that a second storm was coming! We were drenched! It did not rain just for a short time but quit a while. Oh the joy of Cedar Point. Everything was shutting down because of the Thunder and Lightning(Sean decided it was going to be a new ride, to be wet and get hit by lightning and get blown away, hmmmmm) After about 2 1/2 hours of being wet and hungry and sooooo ready to ride this amazing coaster the rain stopped, as slowly as it could, and we waited for the 6 train test runs that Millie had to do. We did have some good laughs during our wait though. I saw people around us laughing at us a few times. Too bad we didn't where a hat or we could have taken up some change and possibly could have made a $1 to get a Take 5 candy bar or something! I strive to be the optimist and Steve the pessimist, we had a great time!
After that we had the long awaited Millenium Force ride we almost ran to get some food we were so hungry. We went to Johhny Rockets and had a great time.
After that we caught up with Raptor, Dragster (Yes, Cristin, you can and did do it!!!! Yea Cristin and Steve for that matter, they were both a wittle bit scawed, Cristin made it plainly known, Steve didn't!) and we hit the Maverick, the new coaster. We had a safe trip back home and had a wonderful time. One highlite that I am sure Cristin, Steve and Sean won't forget is me trying to have fun the way James has fun when he is bored, buzzing my lips while patting my hands on the railing while waiting for Millie! Hope you can come with us next time!

| My husband is always talking about the roller coasters at Cedar Point when he was a kid. He's from Cleveland. Is this the same place? |

My favorite (about 100 years ago, I think) was the Blue Streak and the Gemini...Oh, and the Corkscrew, too. (Are they still there?) Sounds like you had a great time - even the rain adds some special memories. Thanks for takin' good care of my gal. |

| Oh yes! Cedar Point is Ohio's "rockin roller coast!". It now has 17 coasters, the most of any amusement park in the world. It is located in Sandusky, Ohio on an Island that was used once upon an time for picnicing and then one by one rides were added. Yes Firstmatemom, ;), even if it were a 100 years ago the blue streak and gemini are still there! Blue streak was my last coaster of the day and I thought it was going to slam my brains down into my throat, thats what I get for riding in the last car, my favorite! We didn't get to ride gemini this time, oh well. There is always next year!!! (that is unless God will's for our family to have another little one due during that time of course and if that should be so I know God will give me grace and patience as I wait for the next summer) |
