GOD First,

My words are seeds....Not quite like the ones GOD spoke to create in Genesis, or the seed in Mary, (them some powerful words) And I am to account for my words, not just the spoken but also those I listen to (and or watch as in media and programing)

I am hard on the kids at our community center.....not verbally, just in making them be respectful and accountable for what they say......I find myself doing this by what I say and do.

GOD words, they respond to them....then they run out and do their thing but it must plant seeds ...ya think?

Good topic, good words Steve S.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Pr 18:21 and Eph 4:29 let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is for the use of edification that it may minister grace to the hearers. To obey is better than sacrifice....and disobedience is as the sin of witchcraft, therefore what manner of holy people should we be in all manner of communication (behavior) speaking life and blessings over the body of Christ and speaking as the oracles of God, if indeed we have the Spirit of Christ for what does it profit a man if he says I have faith and has not works. Words are either life giving or perpetuating the curse and death. Surrender to Jesus daily is the key to the sensitivity that we need as a royal sanctified and holy people who speak words of wisdom and prophecy in Christ.

BroRico & Jeff:  Great comments on the power of words.  As James Chapter 3 says; how we use our tongue is a matter of great importance.

Well said.

There are so many things in modern Western society that people do because they can get away with it, or are permitted to do, when they reach a given age.  How many young people turning 21 feel compelled to go out and get drunk on their birthday?  Too many people get stuck there, and it never occurs to them that anyone can cuss or use profanity, and it is neither an accomplishment, nor something that holds the appeal of being daring or risky.  It becomes common place, mundane, and ends up being a tough habit to break.  Where is the maturity in that?

I've always said to my children that the use of "filthy"language is immature. My explanation is that those who use "it"lack the intelligence to use anything different!! Good stuff Steve!!

Amen, Jimmie.  Lack of self-control is indeed a sign of immaturity.
