My family has three cars...a 1980, 1998, and 2000...I am sure that each of them "arouse a feeling of envy" in....well, nobody that I know...

Is it just me or does the "Continue" not work for others?

I had heard about this.  This would fall into one of those things I think the Vatican shouldn't do. :)

While I do think that while such pronouncements do not put the Curia in the best light, I do understand its purpose. We tend to leave our faith in the church when we walk through the doors after a Sunday service. I believe what the Vatican was trying accomplish is to remind people to actively practice their faith wherever they are. Since America is a nation of the car-obsessed, and since many Americans spend inordinate amounts of time in their cars, I do think these "commandments" should be taken to heart.

DarkRadiance, welcome to MyChurch!!  I tend to agree with you...especially about the USA obsession with our cars, but I have to believe the Vatican has greater things to spend their time on...I think that is what surprised me the most. I have see a Patient's Bill of Rights, a Home Buyer's Creed, so a driver's list of "good things" isn't bad to have...it just surprised me where it came from.

Norm, thanks for the note on the Continued link. I fixed it.

OK, Cathy, this is the second time you have mentioned this new fangled automobile of yours. I am in agreement with Angie...post us a pic!!

Honestly the fact that they called it the 10 commandments AND are being serious about it is what I'm a little bugged about.  Soon we'll have 100 commandments as you mention.  How is that for watering God's down?

Well, the popemobile creates envy in me.
