| Hiding His Word In Our Hearts |
|
| |
119:11 I have laid up thy word in my heart, that I might not sin against thee. My mother made me write this quote inside the front cover of my Bible. Now I have my kids and any student of mine write it inside of theirs. Perhaps you will do the same.
"This book will keep me from sin, or sin will keep me from this book."
Thanks Mom! That was great advice! |

| I'm going to suggest this to the men in our men's accountability group. Those punks, half of em don't have a regular quiet time. This'll SHAME em! (just kidding of course, I'm really not into shaming ppl) |

No shame necessary, but a powerful quote! They are still going to have to open it up to read it though! LOL Love you, Mike! |

So Brother Todd...speak to hiding His word in our hearts. How? And what is the deference between memorizing scriptures and hiding His word in our hearts--or is there a difference? Happy Thanksgiving! Craig |

Memorizing is nice, but internalizing it, making it part of us, knowing it breathing it living it applying it speaking it, is all part of hiding it in our hearts. I think of hiding it this way...if the Bible was taken from me so that I could not own one it would not matter for the living Word lives within me and He will bring to my rememberance of the things that He has taught me, but the word is there in my mind and it influences and controls my thoughts and actions. So Craig, what do you think? . |

Brother Todd: right on. :-) I find that those "words" from the written word are the ones that we have consistently had God speak to us about and those that we have consistently tried to walk in. But like you said it begins with hearing that then applying. No application...then we're deceiving ourselves in the words of James. |
