| GOD DOES NOT CHANGE |
|
| |
3:6 For I [am] the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Despite all the changes in the world around us, there is One who never changes. Life is variable in every aspect, it seems, but there is One whose heart is fixed. This is the stability that an anchor gives a ship. It is the basis for Christian hope.
1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. God "does not change like shifting shadows". Whatever His character has been in the past, it still is now. His power, His wisdom, His justice, and His truth - all are unchanged. He has always been a refuge for His people, their stronghold in the day of trouble, and He will continue to be their strong helper. And His love never changes. He loves us now as much as He ever did. This gives us precious assurance. Charles Spurgeon Morning By Morning

| Amen God does not change and His Spirit does not speak differently than His words. Today we see and hear so many people say,"God told them to do this or that or God told this person to marry this person or that one". Yet no where in Gods word did God do so. Many people hear self say things and because they are not wise in Gods word they think before they test the spirit. We are warned to test the spirit so that we know from where it came. Often we tell God what we want so badly we make the mistake in telling self this is what God wants for us. We are lead into righteousness by the Holy Spirit and we have Gods word as a road map to follow, but we still have to make decisions of our own. Many claim God told them this or that only latter to have it not work out. Does this make God a liar may it never be said, it means that at times man wanted some thing so badly they heard what they wanted to hear. God does not change and neither does His words. |
